Best thing to happen to Bungie.net since the title system.

The last challenge inspired me to work on something for a couple of days and I really enjoyed it (couldn't submit though, because some crazy moderator banned me (and because I didn't finish it...)).

Anyway, the chance to take part in another artistic or fun challenge is one, if not the only, thing keeping my indifference to being banned at bay.
This sort of thing draws out the old grumpy members (like me) and the members who never post, but love an opportunity to interact with Bungie (like Zafric).

Here's to many more fun and inclusive creative challenges for the community! Don't let the non-creatives spoil it for the rest of us!!!

Keep it up, DeeJ.

You okay there, Skibur? This is an awful lot of threads for someone like you. You should pump your breaks.

OT: I don't know about best thing since the title system, but DeeJ is doing a pretty damned good job.

Many older members also feel disillusioned and your interaction is vital ensuring they feel valued. Community humpdays are definitely a step in the right direction. Asking the community for feedback that you will forward on to different Bungie factions would also be awesome (especially if those factions responded).

You should be the communities portal between Bungie and the community; it should not be a one way process. You ask, we answer. We ask, you answer. Even if the answer is "I can't answer that right now, but uh..." I assure you any titbit is better than radio static.
You are describing exactly what bungie.net has been historically and if you asked Achronos he would explain that is the site's purpose. However, here we have a new and impressionable Community guy that seems to think otherwise. bungie.net neednt be viewed as a sandbox for immature fans, complete with animal feces that they occasionally fling at one another. Nor should it be the home they leave at 16. It could be a centralised go-to place for the community; the potential is there and for it to be realised the mentality of those at the top (their view of the site) needs to changeA few excerts from a thread talking to DeeJ in Mythix, just after he went gold.

So far he has absolutely delivered. In spite of the burdens of gold text he feels like a part of the community: fan first, employee second.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

I really don't understand how the challenges work. More specifically, which topic by DeeJ to post my submissions in.

This thread would have appealed to me more if it was written with crayons.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

I agree, DeeJ isn't just a professional, he's a professional fan. He's put more of an effort into engaging with the community and bridging the gap between those who live within Bungie's walls and those who live outside.
He also tends to tell it how it is, if theres certain questions he cant answer or things he cant say, he'll tell you why rather than ignore it.

As Snoop Dog would say, he's a'ight.

omg lol, don't you read what he posts?

DeeJ creates the mail sack article - appears in news on the front front - he also makes a thread in the community forum with a link to the article. In that thread he puts up the challenge and you read it, you put your submission into the thead. simplez
