Subject: Kickstarter - About new Halos coming to PC

The reason why Microsoft hasn't ported Halo 3 to PC yet seems to be linked to the fact that they don't think to be able to cover the costs of the port with the sales of the game. At least, this is what I think.

I thought that if only we succeeded in persuading Microsoft to open a Halo 3 PC project on Kickstarter, probabily, we would be able to reach the necessary number of potentional purchasers to make them do the damn port. As you can see here, Kickstarter allowed many videogames to be released thanks to the support of many people. The cool think is that if a person contribues to the project by funding it, the money will be withdrawn from his account only if the project will succeed in reaching its funding goal.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Screw. This.

No. Worst idea ever. MS has more than enough money to fund the development of every single Halo game for the PC ten times over. They don't want to because the profits from doing so won't be obscene enough for them to consider it. A Kickstarter won't change that fact.

I'm sure Microsoft are smart enough to realise that begging for money on Kickstarter would rightfully earn them a lot of scorn.

They just go missing in action.

If they started a digital games service, like the Micorsoft equivalent of Steam, then they could sell downloadable copies . Then they wouldn't have to pay to get all those disks shipped out.

They do have their own games service but the fact that you don't know about it speaks volumes about how well it's done.

Something smells fishy...

I bet Microsuck would say no. They need their precious money from their precious xbox sales and game sales and overcharging for online play/services.
