Posting -blam!- cartoons you watch as a response? I guess I know how old you probably are. What'ya gonna do next, force me to watch Yu-Gi-Oh? I mean, it might have been better if you posted something from Power Rangers... at least that would have been a little more insulting.

My response

complete ignorance of what?

I've got a fan club that follows me around everywhere I go on this board....just to call me ignorant...

Trust me when I say I'm not the ignorant one.

You're just jealous.

Just about everything that you post on this forum follows the guidelines of, "These competitive players on Bungie.net are complete retards that think the game should be catered to themselves...that's why the game should be catered to ME!"

You fight ignorance and egocentrism with more ignorance and egocentrism.

I am insanely jelly right now, but I don't see why you come to this forums when just about the entirety of it doesn't agree with you whatsoever. You and Plunderfull are Waypoint forums in a nutshell: complete casuals that blindly think that they can speak for the entire competitive community, and should be entitled to the "competitive" game that they want, despite the fact that they have never been in a competitive game in their life. Just shoo.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

You apparently have no idea how to read then.

Because my stance is not to cater the game to ME.

My stance is to cater the game to INDIVIDUALS like me, instead of GROUPS like the fan club that follows me around on here.

Server browsers, instead of getting funneled into a playlist because people like you think having more than a handful of playlists "Spreads the population too thin"

Competitive want the game to treat everyone like they are just another cow in the herd, or a brick in the wall. And everyone has to play in such a way that it doesn't interfere with your need to jerk off to stats.

My stance is to tell you to take your -blam!- numbers, and shove them up your ass.

Why?

Because your numbers created matchmaking in it's current form.
Because your numbers created the quit ban.

Do you understand it now?

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

I undestand why too..

Because with the way some of you competitives play...
Matchmaking gaurantees you continue to get opponents to play against so long as you play within the written rules.

If we actually went to a community controlled matchmaking service such as that seen in a dedicated server/server browser environment..

You're gonna have to start being a honest player who plays by more than just the written rules, but the unwritten ones as well. The rules that require you to actually be a good sport to the rest of the people in the room.

You know damn well what I mean by this.

You'd find out real quickly how little people play with you once control is given to them to make the choice.

Matchmaking bypasses the need to actually play like someone worth playing against. Because guess what, the next match full of losers is right around the corner.

And if you don't think the way matchmaking works is completely inspired by competitive play...you're an idiot.

Want another perspective.

Imagine you're playing a "friendly" game with your child.
Now this is YOUR child. This child means the world to you, you want it to grow up and be a healthy confident young lad.

You sit down to play a game with him, a game he has never played in his life. A few minutes into the game it becomes apparent that you could literaly beat him at every turn in this game. Would you play all out and not even give him a chance? Or would you take a step back a realize its just a game, and that overall it's better for EVERYONE involved to be enjoying themselves. And in return you help to build confidence and a future opponent, instead of completely turning you child off to the game because your selfish need to never let up.

Competitives ruin gaming. Plain and simple. The current community of trash talking losers is a product of you and your mentality on the way gaming should work.

Real Skill, is in letting up just enough so that your opponent doesn't realize your going easy on them. You still win, but you make it a close game and keep them interested for future battles.

Don't lie. You all do the exact opposite of being "Good sports"

And realize ... there is a place for the "NEVER LET UP" mentality.

They are called.... LAN TOURNAMENTS...(For money)

They are not called ... regular internet online play for the masses.

Idiots center their play around numbers; most of the players here that are good at the game have the numbers come to them naturally and don't need to spend their games worrying.

Matchmaking in it's current form was made by casuals complaining with H2 and H3 and getting what they want in Reach, with 343 later on recognizing that the game is slop and tried to stick a few diamonds in that slop. How the community interprets KD is completely separate from why the entire game is Social Slayer.

Numbers didn't create the quit ban, whiny bad kids that take the game too seriously and can't deliver created the quit ban.

Either way, KD is useful when a kid wants to talk like they are actually decent at the game and play the game competitively at all times or if they want to talk about how competitive Halo should be. If you don't play like that, cheers to you, if you do, however, and can only generate that terrible KD, don't bother talking like you have a few braincells.

And if you don't think the way matchmaking works is completely inspired by competitive play...you're an idiot.

The problem with this entire post is that you're assuming that competitive players want to have easy games against complete idiots every time they play, which is completely false.

They want to have matches against equivalent opponents. The problem is dedicating only two playlists, one by design and another by virtue, to this task is not conducive to pleasing the competitive fans. The system in Halo 3 worked better because

1. The gameplay was better so it led to more enjoyable games in most cases
2. There were multiple ranked playlist so you weren't playing the same one thing all the time for your rank.
3. You couldn't rank down if you took a break from the game for a day or two and you didn't automatically lose your rank for it being to old.

You assume competitive players wanted the changes that happened to MM in Reach when that couldn't be further from the truth.
