If you don't care, then don't respond. Common sense.

I know about Roxio Game Capture. This does not work because I have my PC and my Xbox in two different places. If you would personally capture them, using some type of capturing device, and give them to me that would be great. Just ask and I would give you the films that I want to upload. Any other ideas would be great!
Also: I am not sure if this belongs in the Reach forum or in the flood.

Hauppauge DV PVR. Roxio is well... garbage.

Here is how I work it... I have a standard def TV in a different room than my HD monitor. I have two sets of cables for my Xbox. I take my box upstairs to my computer and I plug it into the capture boxes set of cords.

The only problem with doing that is that there is more than a second of lag between action on my controller and reaction on the screen... To counteract this I found a set of cables that changes the signal from component to VGA. My monitor has two ports on it so I flip between VGA and SVGA to toggle between the computer and the real time mode.

The only downside to using the cables is that it makes everything on the screen green. If you want to get cables and a converter box that will work correctly color wise it will cost you about $150-$1000... Or you can get the wrong cables that do the job just fine like I did for $1.50 on Amazon.

Again don't get the Roxio, they are a gimmick and poorly made. Get a Hauppauge or a black magic capture card.

spiral out

If you have stunning gameplay that is worth everyone watching, and you have a few hundred dollars to blow, get an HD pvr.

If you have average gameplay and/or you just need the footage to show some friends, get a crappy $20 capture card.

I just want to make a few cool montages, maybe some commentaries/ tips. I am looking for something around $30-$70. Anybody got ideas?

Hauppauge HD PVR is an external recorder and you can hook it up to your PC via USB. How far apart are the PC and Xbox?

A whole floor! Also Hauppauge HD PVR is kinda pricey... $200 is over my budget.

I am thinking AverMedia Game Capture HD. Is that any good?

I use black magic pro capture card to live stream my gameplay and at the same time record it all with my HD PVR.

I have literally thousands of youtube videos uploaded on my channel. It's the perfect method. I wouldn't use any other capture card. The HD PVR retains good quality for gameplay purposes and makes the file size small enough it's not gigs upon gigs for one file like the the black magic pro card output (because that records in lossness). On the flip side it's not making file sizes so small quality is bad like most other capture cards that don't use HD. I can't imagine capturing and uploading anything but HD now.
