Subject: Should the Title system be fixed?

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

I can understand loosing your title due to a ban, but a warning? Come on Bungie. Nobody is perfect and to loose a title due to a warning is a bit harsh.

  • 05.12.2012 11:35 PM PDT

How is that harsh? If you broke the rules, why should you get to keep it?

  • 05.12.2012 11:36 PM PDT

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

It depends on your trust level. I was warned sometime last year and still retained my Mythic status.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

You don't "lose a title" for a warning. You lose trust rating, and it is a smaller amount than what you lose for a ban, which is perfectly fair.

If your trust rating is right on the edge between one title and another (or a Heroic Member title and no title at all), a warning might cause you to drop. But for members whose trust rating puts them solidly into the range of a title, a warning might not cause a change in title whatsoever.

The Forum Rules are right there at the top of every single page on Bungie.net and are easy to read and easy to understand. A warning means you violated a rule; it should never come as a surprise to you, and it is perfectly acceptable, IMHO, for it to affect your trust rating in a minor way.

If titles actually had value, there would be a point to your argument. Creating a thread about losing your title and title bar color is silly.

It happens to everyone. I would hardly call it broken to begin with.

Won't fix; by design.

Troll confirmed. I never even insulted you

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

If you did something that warranted a warning or ban, then getting punished kind of sets you on the right track, no?

  • 05.13.2012 2:10 AM PDT

How can one 'fix' what is not 'broken'?

  • 05.13.2012 3:26 AM PDT

For Carnage Apply Within

They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have foreseen everything, think that they have provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools! — they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace
-Pádraig Anraí Mac Piarais

"Fixed" implies it's broken.

  • 05.13.2012 4:44 AM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

Warnings don't affect you as much as a ban would. You broke the rules; it's completely fair.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

Yes, it should be fixed. There needs to be more of a differentiation between Mythics and everybody else.

You cannot fix that which is not broken.

Gettin' all Herodotean up in here!

By the nine circles of Hell, that's a lot of ways to say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

That, of course, doesn't make it wrong. It's how the title system is supposed to operate. If you care enough about the title, just don't do things that will get you warned. They don't ask you to be perfect, they just ask you not to be a -blam!-head.

Also, given the choice and the opportunity, I'd take your titles away just because you can't seem to spell "LOSE" properly. That's a second grade level word.

I do not agree. Breaking the rules should cause your title to go down. That is fair.

Pretty sure its meant to be exactly that way so you, you know, don't break the rules and stuff.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

I think warnings are pretty fair, if there weren't any warnings it would probably result in a ban. I'm always quite grateful for a warning rather than a ban.

Would you like it to be so that you can never earn that title again?

It's like a wound; it'll heal over time. If you're that hurt over loosing a title due to a warning you can just get Coup and be a permanent Fabled Mythic Heroic Noble Senior Member.

  • 05.13.2012 8:07 AM PDT

Nah, there's nothing wrong with it, the system is fine. Bans and warnings are suppose to impact your trust.

  • 05.13.2012 8:16 AM PDT

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

I didn't know that the title system is broken. It's fine the way it is, I've never been warned or banned. All you have to have is common sense when posting. If the thread looks like a troll thread don't post in it. If someone is pissing you off just leave.

  • 05.13.2012 8:20 AM PDT

Key

You SHOULD be punished for a warning. How about you just follow the rules? The title system is meant to punish you for not doing so. If you are warned, you broke the rules and therefore should be punished. QED.

  • 05.13.2012 8:36 AM PDT

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

That's the way the system works. If you break the rules, you get punished; even if it's only a warning.
