I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I could see maybe adding another base title, but other than that I think it's fine.

How is that harsh? If you broke the rules, why should you get to keep it?
I feel the same way about losing my title/prefix in the past due to previous bans as I do when a certain moderator banned himself due to breaking the rules. It had to be done.

It isn't broken so it can't be fixed. Updated? Yes.

It's not harsh, I like my title, but I have it because I have not been warned/banned recently, that's the point of it, isn't it?

If you use the forums enough you will eventually be banned or warned. In time your title or prefix will comeback once your trust rating returns.

Also, if you fall under the rare category of never being banned or warned then you either are not very active or lucky you never caught Foman on a bad day.

You don't "lose a title" for a warning. You lose trust rating, and it is a smaller amount than what you lose for a ban, which is perfectly fair.

If your trust rating is right on the edge between one title and another (or a Heroic Member title and no title at all), a warning might cause you to drop. But for members whose trust rating puts them solidly into the range of a title, a warning might not cause a change in title whatsoever.

The Forum Rules are right there at the top of every single page on Bungie.net and are easy to read and easy to understand. A warning means you violated a rule; it should never come as a surprise to you, and it is perfectly acceptable, IMHO, for it to affect your trust rating in a minor way.
Just a question, How do I raise my trust rating?

Sometimes is the silly little ones which people forget about. I don't go through the rules with every single post I make....... that would be silly. I just generally based it off being an asshat.

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

I sometimes feel that when I lost my exalted status I lost a lot of interest in the Bungie site. Mainly because I tried to keep all of my posts confidently in the boundaries of the forum rules. The post that banned me was misunderstood by a ninja and I lost those years work of keeping my posts neat and tidy.

Now...I don't give much consideration to my posts.

Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

The title system is perfectly fine.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

The only thing "wrong" with the title system is that you can't choose between prefixes you qualify for.
