You're right, but for the wrong reasons. There's not supposed to be any intelligent forms of life on Halo because it was activated about a billion years ago killing all forms of life or so, right? That means Halo should be the last place where creatures such as deer should be.

And you guys are wrong. There's already a creature in Halo 2, the Glide Dragons/Quadwings! In Delta Halo you can see them flying around in the air and it's fun to snipe and shoot them and see bits of blood and gore rain from the air. There's your ambient life, right there!

Also, I own Oblivion, and it's quite fun when random creatures attack me. Then I simply block their attack with my shield, stun them with a spell, and stab them with my sword, and loot their dead bodies. :)

There were going to be some giant spine-backed stegasourous thingies in the original Halo trailer, but they got taken out. Sorry, I can't find a link to the video.

Yeah, I have that as an extra on my Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack.

But seriously, you guys have never noticed the little insect-like creatures that flew all over Delta Halo? I'm not a sadistic person, mind you, I think they're quite fascinating and add ambience to Halo 2, but it's a ton of fun to shoot them and see all the blood fly out.

Do you know where a link to the vid is?

"This is Recon reporting. Hostiles have been neutralized." <- Great line!

"Ambient creatures?" Detracts from the game, really. In games like HalfLife it works cause you've got the realistic, nitty-gritty environment to go along with the crows and pigeons. but in a more futuristic, "imaginative" game like H2, it'll just detract from gameplay.

I'll play Evercrack or World of Warcrack if I want "ambient creatures," thanks...

EDIT: Dammit, Master beat me to the post.

Who knew that it could more fun unrealistically getting close enough to a deer to punch it to death, steal bread from the poor, pick flowers, and become a vampire and back to normal again was just as fun as in real life? I should know, I've done both.

P.S. Everquest and World of Warcraft rule!

Would those sentinal repair droids that don't attack you be considered ambient? Maybe they'll include the "engineer" jellyfish things from the novels. Regardless they would prolly be trying to kill you, as the theme is Master Cheif vs. Universe.
