Wiltron, you are a hippocrite.

Hypocrite is a word, not an animal.

Wiltron did not flame in his original post. He posted a well thought out opinion that maybe the Halo 3 game trailer was just that, a simple trailer to get fans pumped for the new game. Not some two minute long Halo bible to be dissected and over analyzed.

Yo!

a hippocrite is a word used to describe someone who does as they advise not to do. therefore it can be used as a noun

Actually, "hippocrite" is not a word.

Wow.

You guys are pretty hostile. I'd say some of you are overly sensitive about your little Halo Fantasy bubble getting burst.

Yeah can't you wait to play these people on mulitplayer in Halo 3? They are going to be so nice and intelligent. A truly rewarding xbox live experience awaits us.

I don't know, I don't think EVERY little thing means something- but at the same time, Bungie really does put a lot of subliminal things in almost all of what they do. There is tons of hidden content, little easter eggs, snippets of story, allusions, etc. I think with their trailers and commercials (especially with Cortana's bits of monologue in the trailer) that there are hidden messages, clues to what we will know. Granted, I don't think this is all consuming (who cares if Cheif's armor has scratches?), but I don't think there's harm in reading behind what is seen- Ilovebees, anyone? Bungie is known for this kind of stuff.

Anywho, those are my two cents :)

I think a lot of you are posting calmly and trying to be rational. But the thing is that people tend to read apposing arguments with a tone of harshness, unconciously, but they do. This causes certain parts of a post meant to be a simple point to sound like a bicker or attack. This is the route of many of the arguments within this thread. I think we all need to read these posts over agian using a rational voice within our heads.

Now as per my view, I think that some people are probably taking it to far but the line of too far is too fuzy to judge. We at the moment know Bungie would have put some clues within the trailer, I mean there Bungie, but at the same time we have no idea how much is definate and determined, how much Bungie is giving us, or how they are giving to us. This makes so amny possibilities and allows for mass speculation on many aspects that may or may not be clues. This by my books is fine, it's fun, interesting, causes you to think and is exciting waiting for the next idea, wondering what is true and what isn't, contrasting theories, and deciding what you think. It's not some crazy people trying to predict the future and overexadgurating every single thing in he trailer, it's intellegent people trying to solve a hazy puzzle with clues that are indefinate, and unclearly linked. Yes some may say hey look at the object at this frame, but that's simply because it's clearer there or it's a prominent object that you only see shortly.

In conclusion, the speculation is fine, we cannot be sure if it's overexadurated, or is people are looking in to deep, we can only wait and see. Let them have there fun, let them use there minds, let them speculate, let them discuss, let it all happen and if it's not your thing then simply don't participate. You obviously have reason in your mind for your opinion but just remember that you do not know how much Bungie has leftt in that trailer, they are inconsistent in it and you do not have the insider info to know.

He couldn't have said it better. All people do in this thread is go and flame each other on there own ideas...

Point taken, but I'm pretty sure we passed the point of reasonable speculation some time ago on this forum.

Sorry, I just get so crazy sometimes. Like last week. I saw that my milk had expired two days before, but I drank it anyway.

I can tell you guys this. I've been a fan of this forum for a year and a half. But reading speculation thread after speculation thread is already becoming tedious and exhausting.

I think Wiltron's message was; "Hey, let's take a step back and just bask in Halo 3 goodness without writing a 15 paragraph dissertation on what the three weeds by MC's feet mean in the trailer."

ahaha...Very true I think thats why many of the regulars kind of disappeared.
I just got on these forums again...but all I see is all these crazy Halo 3 theories.
Maybe ill just take a break until it comes out.... Things will be running smoothly again.

This happened with Halo 2. But not as much fan based as it is now.

There may be a clue or two in the trailer, but I don't think that justifies the mass speculation that's running rampant around here.

Why don't we talk about what we see in the trailer? I'll try to steer it in the right direction:

1. We all love to play Halo and look forward to H3, but was anyone else dissappointed by anything in the trailer? I for example think the animation of the MC wasn't all that impressive. It looked hand animated rather than mo-capped. If I'm wrong, they need some new actors/stuntmen to create the movements.

2. Without reading anyhting into what was actually on screen, I was somewhat disappointed that there was really not much going on in the trailer. Wouldn't it have been more exciting to see master chief fight his way across a desert plain and THEN come upon the thing (ark) in the crater?

I think the animation could have been better, but I doubt they spent that much time on it. Which furthers the idea that there probably aren't any meaningful "hints" in it.

I think it would have been cool to see some fighting, but it wouldn't have been Halo then. It's more Halo to see MC slowly walk to a cliff and look down, only to see an epic battle awaiting him at the foot of said cliff.

Really, Vince? What you describe (and the trailer probably is) is a cut scene from Halo. Have you forsaken her (mulTiplayeR)? Halo is, for me, all about the gameplay, not the "character building" mini-movies.

So you don't actually like the story? Well if so that is why you got so annoyed of all the speculation threads. You just wanna get in there and blow a few heads off. Oh about you gettin mad at all the "Ar/new gloves threads, well its like being in the middle of a race and half way through the final lap you magicly get a new car... How the hell does that happen? That's why people are speculating.

Oh, I agree with you totally. Actually, I haven't even finished Halo 2's campaign. I'm not even sure I've even played it past the first level (Me and Jules played it the first night it came out because we were the only 2 awake). But a Multiplayer demonstration wouldn't really be a Trailer then... I don't know. I can't wait to see gameplay, but this was just the tip of the iceberg to get people excited... which apparently worked.

1. I do like the story. It's just not the crux of the game for me.

2. I'm not "mad" at anything. I'm having a grand time.

3. You lost me with the glove / car thing.

Can't argue with that. However, I would've liked to see him fighting through a bit of covenant (campaign style) on his way to the crater (or even just blowing a grunts head off with his newly textured boot on his neck).

Whats not to get? Start the race (Halo ce and Mark V MJOLNIR and the AR) Lap two pit stop (Chief gets Mark VI MJOLNIR and BR) Lap Three (FInal Lap) Looks like there isn't time for a pit stop (The Chief is after Truth and in the middle of the "Second Battle of Earth) Halfway through the final lap (Chief gets new gauntlets and a AR/BR) But how does that happen?

Oh I see. And what I'm saying is ... bungie got new hardware and was able to realize their original vision in more detail and make weaponry improvements taking into consideration feedback and new ideas for the sake of gameplay. Mystery solved!
