Yes, because you spread ignorance and stupidity, that's why we need to correct you.

Guys...don't derail this topic.

You can spam him with PMs about how dumb he is IF you REALLY want to, but let's not get the OP's thread locked because one person doesn't have proper grammar...

I enjoy magma.

It's all irrelevant anymore anyways, my questions have been answered thanks to the finer folk on the bnet, and I do appreciate it. Because my mind was devastated by confusion. But I'm satisfied with the solutions at hand

What a waste....

The Mk. V armor was the first of the line to be equipped with energy shields (based, in part, on captured Covenant matériel). S-117 was not the first Spartan to receive the Mk. V armor, as he had been in the field when it entered service on 24 Nov 2551. The most obvious indication of this is how familiar the Marines on the UNSC Pillar of Autumn (C-709) were with the armor.

So, what was so special about 29 Aug 2552? This was the very first time a "smart" AI had "piggy-backed" in the Mjolnir Mk. V powered assault armor during "live-fire" simulated combat conditions.

Halo: The Fall of Reach and Halo Waypoint's MJOLNIR Project 2 video state that the Mark V was issued on August 29, 2552. However, a number of later sources, including the aforementioned Weekly Update, Dr. Halsey's personal journal, the 2011 edition of the Halo Encyclopedia, and Halo: The Essential Visual Guide retcon this, clearly stating that the Mark V was issued on November 24, 2551. The two latter sources reveal that the suit issued in November 2551 was a prototype of the one issued in August 2552, explaining its noticeably different appearance in Halo: Reach. While John-117 indeed tested the performance of the second-generation Mark V system, ONI was actually evaluating the Spartan-AI pairing made possible by the second-generation Mark V suit.
Where does it say that in Halsey's journal? I can't find it anywhere :\

If that is true then why is the armor in reach mark v B?

Five exclamations marks are a good signifier of an insane mind. As is trying to hide from Death in an airtight room. Silly wizard.

In defense of Reach, it was not the worst retcon ever.

I agree it should have never been made.

Wow this has been enlightening :) Anyone got anything for the POA being in orbit in the book, and never launched in the game?

It landed on Reach to pick up the piece of Cortana that Noble 6 was carrying apparently. This was also covered in the Data Drops (Drop 6).

Not really, but you're entitled to think so.

And only the helmet is Mark V[B], the armor is still the base Mark V.

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

Reach didn't mess up the canon like people think. Ya the storyline was honestly a bit boring but it did straighten some things up.
The Fall of Reach has been retconned several times BEFORE Reach came out. To say that Reach "destroyed" the canon is very false.
It does actually make sense that Master Chief would be on Reach if it's already being invaded. I find it a bit to much of a coincidence that Reach fell in 1 day, with the Spartans all conveniently being called there a day before it was invaded. Since Reach was a military planet, it would make more sense that it would take a month for it to ultimately fall on August 30th.

I think we can all come to agreement that for the most part RKO is right, Phynix is out of his mind. And the data drops answer a lot of questions. Problems? They done been solved.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.
