Subject: Halo 3 with a Non-linear storyline?

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I'm just comparing Halo to some of Bungie's ealier games, namely Marathon. With those games, the third installment of the game, Marathon: Infinity, the game was non-linear, and there was many different endings to the game.

So this begs the question, will Halo 3 be non-linear, maybe a situation where if you activate the Halo's, you follow a different storyline than if you don't. This is something to consider, and I think it's something that Bungie would do.

I dont think so, Halo is not the same as marathon and the story is on so much of an epic level, i dont know if they would mess with the style in which its done, u kno a cut scene sandwhich cut scene- play - cut scene

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

Ooohhh! Maybe Halo 3 will have terminals to read info from, since Cortana is MIA. And dual rockets, and shotguns!

i cant remember wear, but i do remember it being said that halo 3 willl have different ending to the story...althought this would add some replayablity to the game, i do no think they should do that cuz... well idk really. i would like to see differetn ways to go thru levels

If I were perfect then this would be easy.

I could see how having multiple endings to Halo 3 would yield plenty of replayability but would make for a crap ending to the Halo series as an epic story. It'd be Bungie saying that they didn't know how to choose a great ending for the Halo trilogy and just decided to throw the entire deck at you. I don't want a Jack of paws and definitely not a 7 of diamonds. And I definitely don't want to have to pick up all the cards once their on the floor. I want the Ace of Spades because when it comes to gaming and in particular, first person shooters, Halo is the only Ace of Spades.

It was somewhere said that Bungie announced that their next project would have something of an open-type gameplay, along with 4 play coop. If so, this project would be Halo 3. However, I doubt there would be different story lines, just a bunch of stuff to explore. As in this story,
"The landscape you saw is real geometry - the mountains and city in the distance are not a skybox - they are actual geometry that you can go to."
You can probably just go about wherever you want, or near to it. But then you'd have to go where you were supposed to be to finish the story.

Thats just my two cents.

I guess I should have also pointed out that in Marathon: Infinity No matter which route you took you eventually ended up at the true ending of the game, I would think that Halo 3 would be like this too, just instead of dreams you would have something else perhaps.
