I hope to God not.

Judging from press releases on the matter it appears Bungie wears the pants in the relationship between the two companies.

Here is how it works
-Activision gives Bungie money as an investment
-Bungie makes awesome game
-Bungie makes a lot of money
-Activision gets a share of the profits for providing the initial capital
-To ensure that there (Activision) investment is long term, they sign a deal so that they are the only ones who can give bungie money and directly reap a portion of the profits.

They are in no way owned by Activision.

They should provide a lot of DLC to keep us busy, though.

Insert something about the number of games Bungie is required to make over the next 10 years and you've got it.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

No. Bungie owns the rights to their new IP, which means Activision can't have any other company work within Bungie's new franchise.

And Bungie has the freedom to do what they want with their franchise, just as long as Activision gets the publishing rights for 10 years.

So Bungie will probably stick with their 3 year development cycle.

I hope they take a nice long time to build hype and perfect their latest games, which will probably be sick as hell.

Theme Builder 4.1 is out for Bungie.net!

Theme Builders

I think Bungie has set some clear boundaries with Activision.

Because Bungie is now owned by Activison, does that mean they'll be forced to have annual releases like CoD? Activison forces Treyarch and Infinity Ward to do it. Will Bungie be treated the same?

I'm just curious. I don't want Bungie games to drop in quality like CoD.

Bungie isn't owned by Activision. Activision is just the publisher and has very little creative control over Bungie game development

And another thing, CoD games are annual releases, but that is because there are two studios that make CoD games which allows each game to get the full 2 year development cycle.

My reaction

For game series that have annual release dates, they seem to get rushed, and therefore, there's a lot of missing content and it just feels rushed.
