I know you said newer members, But I think it is also very easy to get around this website and the reason why its hard on a phone is because the website really isn't designed for a phone yet. I am hoping they update the mobile app so yo can post on the forums with it when they come out of the dark.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

Hi. Am Helvike, and I wan be agoood contributain member f this site. So far I dun get it but I gon get to be the best at this site so no one can beat me at surfin dis site. K thanks

Helvack

... But seriously, we were all new at some point. And even then, we all on e adjusted to this site in its current form, so while it may not be recent, we can still speak from experience no differen than new members who may not be fully familiar with it.

The site has an incredible user interface and is extremely easy to navigate through, I would think that much is obvious. Even when this layout came into being, I'm sure even the slowest of creatures would be able to find their way around.

But I thought this was generally obvious... Without having to be posed as a question.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

This website has never been nasty to me.

This site is easy to navigate through. The drop down menus and easy to locate features make sure of that.

But there are some glitches, like that annoying "this text contains extended characters that are not allowed" problem. Also, it is easy to accidentally press a button while writing a post that refreshes the page or takes you to another page, losing whatever you've typed.

For the most part it's very user friendly. It's easy to navigate and find things, and most of the users here are friendly.

Well spank my balls and call me Santa, it's Easter already!

I find it very easy to navigate, although I find some things, such as going from a main to private forum is a bit too time consuming.

Also, its a lot easier to navigate now than when I joined due to the fact that only about 3 main forums are active.

I find the layout/system very cool, and I find it lends the site an atmosphere most other forums lack.

It would depend on which part of the site you're referring to. If you look at the forums though, I don't think they are - well, not as much as they could be IMO, but that's most likely due to old technology.

Points that sway my opinion:

- The "text contains invalid characters" message is vague and unhelpful.
- Lack of local date and time formatting.
- Search bar doesn't work very well.
- Finding interesting content is difficult.
- Lack of queryable, filterable, and sortable metadata.
- Heavy Javascript reliance, noticeable on mobile devices.
- General lack of communication/interactivity between the site and the user.
- Reliance on user performing tasks rather than the site doing it for them.
- Lack of display options and customisability.
- Topics seem to have their focus set on the first few posts or the last few, completely missing the mountains of content between those two points.
etc...

I agree, but while I'm rarely the first to defend the current forums, I will say that we, as a community, fixed a lot of those things.

The customization movement started in things like the mod stalker - adding desired features to the forums on our own. I created Coup to "fix" some of the aesthetics of the website, and also give myself a little personal flair for fun. After scripting took off, more and more problems were fixed or improved upon by the community in amazing ways. Which is pretty awesome.

Not to undermine the original point, because the website is certainly far from perfect and it annoys me when people say it is. But the user-driven movement to make the forums better is definitely a cool thing to see.

I breathe BR, not kidding homie.

very user friendly

I like it, But I think a few things could be changed.
Making the text editing options easier would be helpful, Such as making a word bold or italicized, And so on.

I love how simple this site is to use. The searchbar could use a little work but other then that I really like it.

Bye.

I think the site is very easy to use but the numerous posts about "Titles" and "Ranks" and the such suggest otherwise.

The Top Forum Topics side bar is clearly overlooked by the majority of new users and I think that is something that needs to be looked into.

Is this not the fault of us, the community, rather than the design team who built this site? You can't directly control what people will post in threads. You can deter, monitor and/or punish for what has been said but from a design standpoint it is impossible to control. My point is, this is not a user interface (which from what I've understood this thread is about) issue but rather a community issue.

Even through a mobile the device, the site is easily navigable, it is just a hassle to have to zoom in and click on stuff and what not. Overall, I think the site is laid out pretty well.

The search bar is not the greatest. It never has been. There must be some way to improve it. I wish I knew an answer to this issue. I'm sure the Web Team and Achronos have some improvements to implement in the near future.
