good job, for some reason I thought I was the only one that thought Waterworks wasn't on a ring and how it could possibly be on Earth. I didn't really take the time like you, so great job with all your proof. Unlike all the other theories surrounding halo, yours acually has evidence that has come from bungie itself !

what makes me wonder, if this is true, is what that machine does ? If it shows how genius the forunners were, why was it made and what does it do ?

I guess were kind of coming from the same place !

Because the Ark, the most important part of the whole Halo scheme, is on Earth. See, I've been musing about this, and Halo only makes sense if there is some way for the Forerunners to survive, in some form or another. If they simply killed themselves, then why bother? Why not just let the flood kill them? They must have had a way to avoid the effects of Halo when they triggered it. The Ark is it. Somehow, the Ark protected a small part of the forerunner civilization from halo when it was triggered, and then the forerunners emerged from the ark as primordial humans, the plan being that they would eventually rebuild their technology and "reclaim" the forerunner empire. This is why the covenent landed in New Mombasa (in Africa, where humans first evolved), why Guilty Spark calls humans "reclaimers", why the covenant wanted to go to Earth (because they knew there were forerunner facilities there) but where surprised that the humans lived there, and so on. It even fits with the Halo 3 trailer, in which you see a massive, buried forerunner structure in Africa.

Thats kind of what I was thinking back in the day...mabye there is a city inside that structure, a city were the forunners lived in as they activated the rings. Mabye the ark is were you activate the rings, and also the only place were you can be free from the blast. It also kind of makes sence that it would be so hard to get into cause they don't want the flood to get in with them.

dude, you have a really good theory.

MAYBE just maybe, the structure that is waterworks could have something to do with the "structure" that is mentioned in one of the stories from the conversations from the universe booklet

woah, just read this post.

for those of us who havent read the books, whats Choral and does the Conversations from the universe booklet say its there instead of earth?

edit--- im thinking that maybe waterworks was a treatment plant for the forunners so they could reuse water?

Spenceb7: May I ask why you decided to delete a perfectly good Halo 3 Theory with 65 replies?
GameJunkieJim: My primary reason was because 20 of those replies were nasty link spam, and the theory wasn't good enough to save.
Spenceb7: Well, you could delete the posts w/ the child -blam!- and not have to be power flexing and delete a good thread.
GameJunkieJim: Frankly, it was stupid.
Spenceb7: Well, Some people, of anyone I think you would agree, like to speculate. You work for Bungie and I figure you enjoy the story. Why can’t you let people have their fun and speculation? Also, is there any way I can get a copy of the post to put it on my own website forum.
GameJunkieJim: Speculation is fine, but please do it with some minor amount of knowledge of the story instead of ridiculous reverse name crap.

And no, I can't get a copy of the post, once deleted, it's gone.
And if I had deleted all the posts the thread would have broken anyway.
Spenceb7: Since you just flex power whenever you want can you atleast prove that there was no proof in there? If not can I get an apology, please?
GameJunkieJim: I'm not apologising (note he spelled it wrong) for deleting a dumb spam thread.

Go post whatever ridiculous crap you want in your own forum. The Halo 3 Forum has enough crap without you adding more.
Spenceb7: Would you be mad if you spent time and effort on a theory then some jerk with too much authority, just swoops in and clicks a button to make your thread disappear. All because the "ninja" is mad because some retard is posting child -blam!-, so he just bans people and takes posts off of the site. Apparently, Bungie believes we should all have opinions, as long as they are their opinions.
GameJunkieJim: Please. If that was time and theory, you need to get back on the short bus and go back to school. I've seen a lot of dumb posts, and that was probably one of the dumbest.

I'm really in no mood for more of your crap.
Spenceb7: Whether or not you're in the mood, you shouldn't have zapped a thread that was not harming anyone! You are just fed up with this Deutch guy posting child -blam!-, so you ban others and zap threads, in between banning a child molester. You really shouldn't have banned this. You have to realize people like to go in depth with things. I'm seriously having the feeling I should send a message to the webmasters of Bungie.net about this. The thread was not harming anyone.
Spenceb7: I am not getting a reply or did you realize you were wrong?
GameJunkieJim:

GameJunkieJim did not respond.

Just so everyone knows, the main structure in Waterworks is just a big water pump.
