you know what, that is a damn interesting theory my friend. but when did humans discover it?

Maybe it's the Forerunner structure that is discussed in the Conversations from the Universe book, that the humans were finding...or maybe just the outside of it...

You face an opponent who has never known defeat, who laughs in foreign tongues at your efforts to survive. This is Reply suicide.

For those who said I was flaming... I think you take what I say far too personally. If you reread it... I can't fathom how you think that's a flame when all I did was present proof and common sense to despute something many Halo fans think is gospel. A Halo INSIDE Earth...

I'd like to know how Earth having the same rotation, habitat types, weather, and everything else as a Halo structure makes it have a Halo inside of it. Anyone ever consider that the Halo rings were possibly modeled after Earth instead, and not the other way around? Perhaps even Earth was modeled after the Forerunner planet? Or maybe it's the Forerunner homeworld? Why aren't these theories as valid, or MORE valid than a Halo inside of the Earth? They certainly make a LOT more sense...

I'd also like to point out that while you may think I have no life in order to memorize the books and games and other various Halo things... I'd like to point out that you probably post here more often than I do, and thus have LESS of a life.

It takes you longer to post here than it does for me to memorize much of the Halo dialogue from the games.

I played Halo 1 until NEAR memorization and only played Halo 2 storyline about five times. I have much of that memorized as well. You don't need time, you simply need a good memory and a will to commit it there. My good memory does not mean I have no life. Please think before you type. It saves me time in posting a rebuttle to you.

I'd also like to retract my statement about finding it in the CFTU booklet... I just skimmed through it again and can't find it. I was sure it was in there... But perhaps not. I've been rereading the Halo books, and I may have found it in there instead. If I find the passage again, I'll quote it...

I distinctly remember reading that all sentient lifeforms are somehow DRAWN to Forerunner structures and tech.

Also.... It could be that the Ark is on Earth... But Bungie could be messing with us. Perhaps the Ark is NOT on Earth, but another distinct planet instead? Like I said... We won't know until the game comes out. I'd like to think that the Ark is on Earth... But maybe... Well... It seems too easy. And the fact that we're all speculating about it, makes it almost too hard. When they mention the Ark at the end of Halo 2, we zip back to Earth... But... We don't know for sure. Bungie could put it there and satisfy our expectations... Or throw something NEW at us, and prove it's not there, but that Earth has coordinates or something TO the Ark. We just don't know yet. Sadly, only Bungie knows.

And I, for one, eagerly await to see how they will wrap this up. And I hope it's worth the $120 it'll cost me!

there has gotta be a huge connection between the earth and forerunners. i swear alpha halo looks like a lower part of europe from space in one of the Halo 1 cutscenes. then again maybe i was on drugs haha. and delta halo looked like africa from space=o there are 7 halos so maybe each one bares resemblance to an earth continent?since earth does have 7 continents afterall.i think humans are forerunners and i think the forerunners built the halos to resemble their own planet just to feel more at home on the halos or something lol! i think that every continent has a structure similar to the one found in the H3 trailer in africa. cause if i am right about the alpha halo looking similar to europe then maybe there is a structure there too?maybe waterworks is one of the structures on a different continent? haha

I agree with the ring in earth theory being poo..it's totally impossible by BUngie's standards, physics, Bungie's Haloverse physics, and common sense.

He was suggesting that Waterworks is just a Forerunner mining station, or something similar on Earth (since Earth was most likely just another planet used by the Forerunners - most likely for it's natural resources with the dinosaurs being on it for so long..)

Why are you spending 120$ on H3?

i know i missed the whoel section in the thread that actually DEALS with the theory but i'd like to say a few things

first of all the theory is a pretty good one but as with every theory, you do have some loopholes

the similarity's between the moon on Zanzibar and the moon on water works could be because Bungie has a specific skybox with a pattern of one moon

also, if it was the object found on coral, then it couldnt be on earth...because coral and earth are two different planets

other then that its a pretty well thought theory, i think your most convincing point was the one about the boxes and fusion cores, but to that i also have a question: Why do we spawn with plasma rifles then? And you can also find human stuff on entirley covenant levels, like Midship, and vise versa, like plasma rifles on Zanzibar

Thats is some theory you got there man. I got to hand it too ya I would never thought of such crazy thing, but you have the proof to show it, but a theory about A Halo in earth? I kinda have second thoughts about that, is there more proof that the theory is more proofible before I can conclude my mind about this very interesting question. Maybe there is more proof in the multiplayer maps than we think. Take a look in the trailer too if there is more evidence to it.

Yeah, the only evidence to that that i personalluy have is this....

Evidence-

*The cortana letters. Shes sending urgent news to earth.
*Dr.Hasley takes Kelly to earth to PROTECT IT.(does she know a little more then we think she does?!)
*Cortana in the Halo 3 trailer says, "This is the way the world ends." Meaning the halo inside of earth is the last hope, the only non flodd infested Halo. If they activate it earth would bolow up when the Halo sent out its ppulse thing.
*Would explain the covenants wanting of earth (other then its the human home world)
*Would explain our gravity and the rotation we have, like that of the halos.

Personal Beliefs-

*Halo lies in along the earths equator.
*The structure in the Trailer (Halo 3) was not too far from the equator. I think it was an underground entrance to the rings access tunnels.
*The forunners made an extra halo. They covered it with solid land mass to be discreet and unsuspecting.
*This Halo when activated would shed its outer solid rock shell.
*This halo's blast would wipe out EVERYTHING. SO if the other Halos were never activated then this one could finish the job.

~Finis~

Kelly didn't go to Earth, its more likely she went back to Halo 04; read this great theory.

Also, a Halo in Earth is highly unlikely *the only reason we can't totally rule it out is maybe someone at Bungie might go postal and ruin the story)

It's proved impossible by
* Bungie's standards [for a good story]
* Physics
* Science
* Bungie's Halo system of physics and slip space, etc.
* Common sense (if you don't ahve any, you will believe the theory)

There is absolutely no reason to put a whole Halo under Earth when in reality, only one structure is needed (similar to the control rooms on the Halo), but this would be universal a universal control room (The Oracle tells them that the Ark activates Halos, not produces a Halo-like blast)- and most likely have a different key..

maybe the crystal found on Reach (which was almost identical in design to the Forerunner structure in the H3 trailer) or maybe the Forerunner ship: Sharaquoi; seen at the end of H2.

Try to use common sense and facts while making a theory...

Sierra 173 - The Siegebreaker

For anyone questioning the Ark on Earth theory...remember what the Prophet of Mercy said to the Master Chief before he died? Think about it...

Master Chief: So, wheres he goin?
Prophet of Mercy: To Earth! To finish what we started...

The Prophet of Mercy is talking about the great journey. Just something to think about.

Sierra 173 - The Siegebreaker

Well, it shows that Earth is somehow related to ending the great journey. The only logical guess is that the Ark is on Earth. Truth probobly decided that he would be better off going to the Ark incase Tartarus failed due to the civil war going on. There he would be able to be sure the Halo rings are activated.

Interesting. I can't believe I missed this even though I've played Waterworks a lot.
