-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

This was the most fun map in Halo: CE bar none, I'm calling it right now. Why have we not had maps like this since? In fact, the total amount of teleporters across all maps has probably become less with each game. Although that might only be because Chiron throws the curve.

But there was something fun about the convoluted system and not knowing who might pop into view or who you may run into when.

Chiron appreciation thread, go.

This is definitely one of my very favorite maps.
I like the coloring, The levels, The confusion.

I wish it would be brought back.

It was. Except someone remade it in Reach, and the completely different style of gameplay caused it to be a colossal failure.

<3 Rockets 400% health on Chiron.

It was fun for shenanigans, but was overall a pretty terrible map with all of those teleporters. It'd be interesting to see a re-imagining of the map with a variation of large and small entrances to replace the teleporters.

Pretty much this, a remake like that could probably be made in Reach forge actually.

I'm not doin' it, though.

I'm going to try.

I'll be back with more.

Used to be that I couldn't stand Chiron. However, after using the map to play a few melee-only games with my friends, I found that it was actually quite well-designed and had the potential for epic small group skirmishes.

Gawd, so many backtaps. Nostalgia to the max.

Shotguns, no shields, 50% health, Chiron TL34 and 8+ players is amazing. Crazy king's always good fun too!

I personally choose Boarding Action. I was having a hard time choosing between this or Chiron; I only chose this instead because I did get a guilty pleasure out of playing FFA Shotguns on Chrion when I wasn't in a serious mood.

I wouldn't say it's the greatest map for fun but I did get a great guilty pleasure out of it. Btcc22 would happily disagree, though. :D

No, ExcessiveFaun6 is not my real gamertag.

Cortana: The message just repeats. "Regret, Regret, Regret."
Miranda: Any idea what it means?
Sgt. Johnson: Dear Humanity... we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!
Marines: Hoo-rah!

To me, the biggest beauty of Halo: CE multiplayer is that literally half of all gameplay was you and a buddy playing local, and just screwing around. Since there was no online, we made our own fun.

This made maps like Chiron and Boarding Action a ton of fun, as well as doing out-of-map jumps in Sidewinder or Blood Gulch.

"Living to smile, and not to succeed; smiling to inspire happiness, not to give the illusion you are happy; creativity and music to inspire smiling, which in turn inspires happiness; being nice to be happy, not for being perceived a good person."

Agreed, sir.

That was one of the things that always irritated me about the new games, the lack of a unique little extra something. It may have not been a game changer, but it was most certainly one of the best to play with friends.

I miss that map. I'd like to see a re-imagination of it with less teleporters though.

I think they haven't created any Chiron TL-34 like maps or really any maps with teleporters because Bungie became obsessed with continuity in the later games multiplayer maps. Hence, the long bridges and man-cannons. All of this goes back to my original thought that the later Halo multiplayer maps for 8 people were always too big and we never really had any good arena maps. Chiron, Boarding Action, and Damnation were always my favorite.
