I loved Boarding Action. It was in its own class of multiplayer maps, the layout being extremely unique.Actually Sword Base has the same layout. It was a reimagining (Like Avalanche was of Sidewinder) of Boarding Action. In fact, if you don't believe me, the .map file for Sword Base is named "swordingaction".
As terrible as this is, I actually find Sword Base more enjoyable than Boarding Action... That's not saying much at all, though. I still cringe when I see it come up while I'm playing Reach.
I haven't played Boarding Action in years, so I don't know if I'm spot on with some of my points.
IIRC, Boarding Action was a symmetrical map as opposed to the asymmetric map Sword base; an map which was poorly "re-designed" based off of a campaign mission. It was far smaller which would mean that no matter where you'd place your spawn points, you'd give one team a better opportunity at reaching important locations - in this case the red team spawn.
The only problem I could remember was it being a camp-fest at both the portals on Levels 1 and 5, but I guess that lead to team tactics and innovation, and was undeniably "fairer" for the players than on Sword Base.
