Subject: temporarily banned for quitting too frequently

It's complete horsecrap that this kind of stuff happens. After getting teams that quit to the last man twice in a row, I get thrown into the laggiest game I've ever witnessed. I finish the game like a good sport, knowing that if I quit again, I'd be temporarily banned for quitting too often. When we reach the postgame lobby, I leave as quickly as possible because I sure as hell don't want to play another game with whoever had the bad connection, and enter my matchmaking lobby to find that I'd been temporarily banned due to quitting... great. This has happened before, and I'm just wondering how to avoid this, whether it be preventing the initial problem of being placed on teams where people leave to the point the game's just a slaughter, or not get banned after leaving the lobby. Any pointers?

I graduated from high school on June-11-2011. I'm 19 right now. I'm turning 20 in December. I like playing video games, and board games. I like reading Sci-Fi, and World War II novels, and what not.

1: Don't quit.
2: Don't betray your teammates.
3: Don't play the game.

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

Suck it up, it's only 10 minutes. If anything, it should be longer.

Wait till the new lobby starts and back out then!

Quit less often.
Regarding lag, one thing I have noticed is that during the map voting if my vote doesn't register immediately I know already the game is going to lag.

The time limit should not be extended. No reason for it to be.

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

The quit ban shouldnt include lag outs. I got banned because my modem was acting up and lagged me out about 10 times that day, then it was being fine thr next day.

Not really. You're still ruining my game because you fail to meet good standards for XBOX Live.

Microsoft doesn't set any specific requirements with regard to Internet connection speed. To use its Xbox Live online service for the Xbox 360 gaming console, Microsoft states only that a broadband Internet connection is required.
People should check with their ISP to be sure the service they purchase is optimal for online gaming.

I'm banned for a month for quitting but you don't hear me moaning about it.

  • 05.20.2012 6:38 AM PDT

People should stop being surprised when they get a quit ban. If you quit too much, you will get temporarily banned from playing Matchmaking. Just don't quit and you will not get banned.

I mean come on, you come onto bungie.net to tell everyone you got banned? its only 10 mins. do you see them massages when searching for a game in matchmaking? It tells you there as well. We can go on your game history and find out. If your banned for 10 mins go and play firefight customs anything to pass the time. Please dont come onto bungie.net to tell us again please. Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

And you fail to even meet any standard of intelligence to realize... The only thing that ruined it for you, is your -blam!- bull-blam!- competitive try-hard.."I don't want join in progress....WAH!" Bull-blam!-.

So go -blam!- yourself for trying to think a quit ban is going to make any difference in the amount of quitters for a CASUAL GAME played over the -blam!- internet.

NEXT!

You think it might have dawned on you people by now...

Halo... Is the only game I've ever played where 1 single person quitting, can apparently can be so detrimental to everyone elses enjoyment... DUHR!!!

How can 1 person have such a huge effect? Because Bungie designed a -blam!- ass matchmaking system.

And they designed that system around dumb -blam!- competitive losers such as yourself.

Meanwhile, casuals are quitting out of games. Which is just as symptom of the flaws of matchmaking and how it treats casuals in general. But you want to punish casuals for a failed matchmaking system instead. Don't kill the messengers.

And meanwhile..you -blam!-es are crying up and down about every minor -blam!- thing throughout the game such as bloom... whatnot. Competitives should all have their dicks cut off and shoved down their mouths.

Oh, who gave you back your Internet? Dd you sneak into your parents room just to get the modem back?

And considering people post these threads at least twice a day, it seems to be very effective on competitive and casuals alike.

And, if you can complete one thought and post it without editing your post, troll, then I'll consider that a sad attempt at an insult. Don't try to insult my intelligence, when you compromised your intelligence level months ago.
