Ugh, it is so annoying! I know it is there for a purpose, but I am a fast typer! Every time I whip up a short response I run into the filter, and end up waiting 30 seconds just to post, and I find it very irritating! So I feel the time should be shortened for the spam filter

Agree? Disagree? Ideas?

I find it enraging.

What I do when I get it is to take about 30 seconds to cool down, collect my thoughts, proofread, and try to submit my post again.

That works every time.

Sometimes it can be annoying, but you really shouldn't be posting every 30 seconds. Remember we do have it for a reason, spam. I do think it should be changed for private groups.

I agree that it should be removed for groups but I disagree about it being shorted/removed from the main forums.

The only thing is the spam filter for the main forums and private groups are the same. The 30 seconds still carries over from your group to the forums. Disabling it for the groups would just disable it for the forums, unless the web team makes two different spam filters.

Also agree its annoying at times, But there for a reason so it should stay the way it is.

Really? Well in that case, I would rather keep the spam filter unless the web team would make another one for groups (which seems unlikely).

Try it yourself, post in a group then immediately try and post in the forums.

I have only ran into it a couple of times, but I could see how someone could not like it. I don't type that fast or post that much for it to be a problem for me. Just ask yourself this: "Is there a need to say what I want on here that cant wait 30 seconds?"

Gettin' all Herodotean up in here!

Thirty seconds is plenty fast. You may be a fast typist, but the simple fact is that very little of substance could be thought of, phrased, and typed up in the space of thirty seconds, particularly since it would have to be in response to someone else. Otherwise, you could just edit your last post. And if you can hit "submit," read someone else's post, click "reply," type a post, and hit "submit" again...

I'm not saying you're not saying anything of substance. I'm just saying that's REALLY fast to pull all that off.

Key

If your patience is so little that it gets to a point where waiting 30 seconds to post a thing on a thing, then you need to learn to multitask.
