Its long been thought that live is full of screaming kids, modders, cheaters and generally unpleasant people.

Which is obviously true.

But people seem to think halo PC is better. But this may be because theres no voice, and no ranks.

In halo PC, you still get the hardcore Tkers, the ones who spend hours of their time simply tking, leaving and rejoining.

Also the AFKs, those a**holes who join and go and sleep, or have tea, and just make it uneven for hours.

While you think there may not be much abuse on halo PC, theres enough in writing to make me think that if there was voice it would match Halo2 on the xbox.

My thoughts is that if they introduce voice in Halo2 PC, and you dont have any sort of feedback ban system, its going to be a lot worse than the xbox version of halo2.

At least people are a bit wary of the banhammer while playing, but if there isnt one in halo2 pc, its going to be nasty.

Im probably going to turn voice off, I have no urge to speak to kids playing, only takes one moron to ruin it.

This can be avoided or helped however.

Bungie, get admins for your servers, assuming its going to run off them (rather than the poor method of having a random host).

I dont care who, as long they are reliable and not power mad gimps.

Theres enough sensible people in this forum willing to do it, and if theres problems with them its bound to show up in here, so you can reallocate admins if need be.

Do it, beacause theres bound to be glitches, its inevitable in any MP game over the net.

And as always, there will always be the racists, sickos and abusers.

So please get admins for any bungie servers you put up, it wont cost you anything but a little time sorting out who to admin it.

Oh yes, and if anyone votes no, could they post the reason please?

I didnt vote no, and Im not sure if this is true in halo2, but personally I think that the voice should only be for teams so if there is a racist, then he problaly wont want to cuss out his own team and tell htem how horrible they are (hmmm better put it a mute player option too, just in case). This is so you dont have to listen to the noobs racists and all that, but only need to read it. I would be glad to be a admin, I try to be fair while banning or kicking players from my server, and usually i will just kick them first and if they rejoin and continue being ***holes then i ban them. This is all I have to say, just hope that bungie reads this.

What do you mean teams? As in team slayer, and CTF games?

As you probably know, thats where most the idiots go to annoy people, restricting voice to teams only wont make a difference.

Don't drink to excess– You might shoot at tax-collectors... and miss

Computer: Power Mac G5 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (2.2) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1.25 GB Bus Speed: 900 MHz

ATi Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition
Display Type: LCD Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Depth: 32-bit Color

Console games attract the dregs. PC gamers tend to be older and a bit more mature. If you find a server full of TKers and AFKs, go to another.

All servers, or just the Bungie servers? If a server can't operate without an admin, it will cut down the number of available servers. And are the admins paid employees? Will there be a fee to play? How would one become an admin? I've come across servers with abusive admins– but they pay to put up the server– it's their server. If the admins are volunteers, what's to stop some TKer from volunteering?

Be careful what you wish for, you might get it.

Now that I think about it, if Halo PC had built-in voice chat and ranks, it probably would be as bad as Halo 2 on Xbox Live.

Simon jester:

Im just asking for the bungie servers to have admins. Not *every* server. And have you played halo lately? Theres very few good CTF servers (for UK gamers pingwise) that have people in. The bungie ones nearly always have people in.

Yes, theres abusive admins, but they are often bedroom hosted with a crap ping. Why does it have to be someone paid? Gearbox has let forum members and staff admin servers, and they havent had any major problems. Your fee argument makes no sense.

Besides of which, any bungie servers having abusive admins would quickly get found out.

Im afraid its not possible to move to another server if there isnt one playing the gametype you want with some players in.

Deathk1tty:

Thats not possible. If I had control of the bungie servers do you think Id be asking this?

PC gamers are usually older than most of the console kids. That's why even though you face jerks on HPC, at least there not as common as on Xbox Live. And seriously, it's an online game. Almost every online game has a bunch of cheating, racist jerks on it. We can't change that fact. But at least HPC's community is more mature than those of the Xbox.

That's not to say that there aren't polite, kind players on XBL, just few and far in between.
