Subject: Why can't we report ninjas?

My Screenshots / My Group / Remember to follow the rules or you will get trapped in a box.

You can't report soemthing you can't see. Ninjas are invisible... If you need to actually report them you report them to Achronos.

Because Ninja violations are generally rare.

You want to report a moderator? PM Achronos.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

I have always wondered who we would report Achronos to in the event of rampancy.

Relevant.

Ideally they shouldn't be breaking rules, so there is no need.

If only it were a perfect world.

I will be getting my ninja title in 10 years.

... They're the ones in charge of the report queue. What good would reporting them do? It's just a waste of time on both ends. The Community Forum loves the phrase, 'People would abuse it,' but in this case? That's the ONLY thing is would be used for.

The Elder Mexican Delicacy speaks the truth.

Cops are terrible at investigating allegations against other cops and it would be a bad idea to just have people dial 911 in order to report a cop breaking the law (odds are such a report would end up nowhere).

That is why there is (for police) a special unit and methodology for investigating their own

Then why do we appeal our bans to the mod who banned us?

If cops are terrible at investigating their own, why would they ever be allowed to judge them?
Apples and oranges. You have to appeal bans to moderators, because they're the only ones who can regularly deal with appeals. Bungie does some of it themselves, but they can't handle it all. If they could, they would never have added moderators in the first place. So, its fine if moderators handle appeals. Its not 'investigating' other mods, its checking violations and the justifications made to extrapolate an appropriate punishment for violations.

Reporting is a COMPLETELY different mechanism and notion. Its saying 'this is a violation'. Not "what did I do wrong here" or "was this an appropriate punishment for the violation?". They're two completely different things. There's no point in making ninjas deal with reported ninjas because we, as Recon was saying, can't really cite a modicum of authority over the other ninjas.

The mechanism for dealing with ninjas is different than the mechanism for dealing with everyone else. What would reporting ninjas accomplish? Nothing. One ninja could agree or disagree that a ninja did something wrong, but they can't do anything about it. That's not their job, or responsibility. Bungie will deal with that, in their own way. Thus we have divined why you can't report ninjas.

There is a certain point of tolerance that should never be reached.

Didn't Recon get banned once? What's the story with that anyways? What's the point?

I feel like primitive man watching the gods and demigods battle.

I think Recon banned himself a couple of times.

They're not perfect either!
You can. Just link their post and send it to an employee if you think they're not doing their job correctly.

It's not "investigating", it's questioning, analyzing, and drawing a conclusion.

I didn't "steal" that car, I permanently borrowed it.
