Subject: Why doesn't this exist yet?

The world is not beautiful: And that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

~Kino's Journey

Why don't we have one big suggestions thread for site updates and new features? Gone are the constant complaint threads, gone are the constant improvement threads, gone are half the locked threads in the community.

Spread the love...

I think lots of ideas would be lost in the mass of suggestions.

Also, ironically, this has been suggested before :)

Gone is this thread.

also, Duffy, it'd be like a holding cell for "good ideas".

Because The Web Team and Achronos don't need our suggestions.
What an ignorant thing to say.

The point of this website's forums is to promote social interactions between peoples with a common interest: Bungie. To keep people coming back, the site should be "good". Look good. Work well. Be user friendly. Have "good" features, etc. etc. This "goodness" is determined by the users of the website, and is based on their preferences. Not the web team's. If people don't like the site or the people who run it are so rude as to ignore the suggestions of their community, they will stop going to that site.

Need an example? Waypoint. Due to aesthetic, functional, and customer-moderator relations issues, a large number of people have tried, and "quit" the Waypoint Forums (myself included).

People will not go to a site they don't like, and to tailor the site to a version that the community likes the Web Team needs to listen to us.

All of the above is why this thread should be created.

BUT, there is one reason that trumps all the others and is why I think overall this thread should not be created. When we have individual threads, they get more attention than just posts in a bigger thread. Ideas become discussed and fleshed out much more than if they were just posts in a "Suggestions Thread".

It's the idea of picking out your favorite crayon from a box who's hue-diversity is akin to the rainbow, compared to picking out your favorite grey crayon.

Considering how many suggestions would be added on a daily basis, I would assume it would be difficult to keep track on all of them.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

The rapidly-growing thread would soon spiral out of control, and would likely devour us all.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

You mean you'd like a massive thread for suggestions rather than entire forum where obvious good ideas are obvious and bad one are shot down quickly?

I've seen some of the so called "suggestions" from this site and I think it's fine the way it is.

Many ideas need extensive discussion. Having all of them in one thread would not be feasible.

Well that's a pretty bad way to think of things! I'm sure they would love to hear some well thought out suggestions.
