Subject: Do you think Bungie secretly help other people with their games?

There is a certain point of tolerance that should never be reached.

It's really hard to explain, but sometimes I play games that have this Bungie feel to them. It makes me wonder if, say Epic or somebody, didn't call Bungie and ask for a little help.

Edit: I just thought of this the moment I hit post but, does this belong in the Flood instead? I figured because it was about Bungie, it was the community, but maybe I'm wrong.

Spread the love...

They might give tips (although I doubt it), but definitely no major help. They're too busy with their own games :)

Yes, it's called Bungie Aerospace.
Actually no. I'm pretty sure Bungie Aerospace just looks at games and decides if they want to publish/support it; I don't think they actually have an impact on the development of the games. I could be wrong though.

Well yeah, that, but I wonder if Bungie helps out on larger projects.

I wouldn't think so, sure they would be friends with another studio such as Epic, but it's like helping your competition.

I know that makes sense, but don't you ever get the feeling, like this small invisible sign that says "Bungie was here"

I can see Bungie and other devs letting other studios into their closed beta testing and all that.

I doubt it. Other studios like Epic are full of some very talented developers who are more than capable of making their own games.

You do see some Halo references in the Gears of War series, but that is because it is published by Microsoft Game Studios, who also own the Halo series.

It could be developers that want to make their games similar to Bungie's style too. That would be the reason why you feel some similarity.

More competition usually means more people buy both games.

No. Bungie isn't the only good dev out there, you know.

It's really hard to explain
I think the term you are trying to refer to is 'innovation'.

And yes, I do believe some companies, like Bungie, might play or have played a big role in the way things are today.

A little bit of sausage, a little bit of hot sauce, a whole lot of awesome. Have a question? Ask me!

Possibly. Wouldn't it be wise to ask one of the greatest companies out there for advice? The only problem would be getting a hold of them and that's not very difficult.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

Im sure the other companies are too proud (and skilled) to get any major help from Bungie. I bet they discuss little bits here and there between each other at trade shows and stuff though.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

They could loan their skill out to other companies and still have enough to make awesome games.
