Hello.
Sorry to disappoint, but this post isn't really intended to discuss "building my own PC". I didn't want to make a brand new thread on the Flood either. However, I definitely have a question related to PC, specifically monitors.
I am very interested in purchasing a monitor I can use for both my PC and game console. I want a super high response rate (around 2ms) and would like it to be as cheep as possible.
The problem is that I also own an HD PVR, which connects to the gaming console via component cable. It turns out that monitors that are compatible with a component connection are rare and very, very expensive.
I found a few models that I'm interested in, but I'm trying to decide which is more important: response rate (just connecting my gaming console via HDMI to the monitor) or immediate access to my HD PVR.
Keynotes: Though I would like to have access to cable television, I don't like the idea of purchasing a television. The lower response rates in the monitors are the reason. Also, are there component-to-HDMI switches out there? Hmmm...
I'm basically asking for advice. I would appreciate any on this matter. I'm about to move into another home where I'll have a room dedicated to fun, and a room dedicated to sleeping. It turns out that I'm putting this 22" 720p Samsung television in my bedroom.
Note: I had a much better post typed out, but my provider 404'd my page for some damn reason, forwarding me to a page where I needed to enter my account information. I've had so many problems with my internet provider lately...
