So....i'll be selling off my laptop (Asus G73SW - the newer version) sooner or later and use that money to go towards my computer build.

Now, I don't want to sell it online, because I only like to sell through Amazon, and Amazon takes away some of your commission. So i'll probably just take my laptop into a few pawn shops and get it valued.

So, I may be able to "sweet talk" them so to say into them giving me more money for my laptop. The most I can get is $1300-$1400. The bare minimal I can get is $800 something.

I better start honing my speech skills....
Seems like a great idea.

Also, is there any worries with magnetic screwdrivers when building a PC?
I don't think so as such screwdrivers are recommended for PC building.

It can be quite a pain to screw down the motherboard without a magnetised screw driver.

Alright thanks. So I can stand on anything so long as I keep touching the case on occasion?

Also, is there any worries with magnetic screwdrivers when building a PC?

Just don't put it anywhere near the HDD, or anywhere that stores data

Who the hell do you think I am?

So when I play BF3 my GPU idles between 80-90C. Is that bad?

That's bad.

It should idle around 65-70C during gaming.

Temperatures are usually measured in C when it comes to computer hardware.

Reference cards get pretty hot, especially 670s.

How spacious is your case, and are there many fans?

My case is some custom ibuypower one, so I'm not sure about the fans, it doesn't seem all too big either, I think there's a problem with the air flow and everything because my CPU gets to 50C just from Minecraft. I think I need to look into this some.

2 should be fine, you can always add more later. When overclocking your CPU, the main thing that matters is a non-stock cooler

Then I could save a bit money by going for the HAF 912, which has 2 fans included.

Would it sufficient for a Core i5 3470 and a Radeon HD 7950?

Not expecting to to overclock them, as stated above.

Coolermaster's HAF series is designed to have great airflow and cooling, so you should be fine.

Nice case, that's the one I plan on getting. My only problem with it is a lack of front USB3 ports. Anyone know how good the cable management is one the HAF series?

All of the HAF cases come with a bit less than an inch (I think) of cable management space. The series is designed for superior cooling, so it should be good.

I don't have any USB3.0 drives and not planning to buy one in the near future.

I guess I'll be fine, or there's always the Carbide 400R.

HAF = High Airflow. ;)

Ever look at the Fractal Arc Midi? 8 fan slots, big enough to fit an H100 radiator inside, removable HDD cage, and an inch behind the mobo plate for cable management.

If your MSI Afterburner fan speed was on max, it should idle at or below 40*C, and around 60*C while at full load. You might need a new case.

The HAF 912 is overrated. I'm not a fan of the cable management or the look of the inside, especially considering that it's white and lacks a side panel.

NZXT Gamma, $40 (LED version)
Rosewill Challenger, $50
300R, $60 (after rebate and code)
400R, $80 (after rebate and code)
Storm Enforcer, $85

I'd suggest the 300R out of all of those if you're looking for a budget case.
