Forgive my inexperience, but this is my first time that I ever have a proper graphics card in my possession.

What's the average GPU temperature during gaming? I live in a tropical country with high humidity so there's a bit of a concern.

I get between 62C-71C whilst playing Crysis 2.

Guess I should be fine.

Weird, when I was playing Crysis 2 on my new rig a week ago, the temperature only went up to 40C.

Probably have something to do with the ambient temperature, as well as the type of heatsink.

My card has a reference heatsink.

Mostly because you can't. It's my opinion. I think lolis are cute. I believe that they accurately exhibit the cuteness attribute. I don't know why, they just do. Maybe it's the eyes, or the way they squirm around curiously and ignorantly. They're cute.

Generally anything below 90 is right as rain

Hello!

I just wanted your opinion on how I can make my PC better.
It would be fun to be able to play BF3!

Specs:
Intel core i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00GHz (4 CPUs)
6gb ram
NVIDIA GeForce GT 620

(Tell me if you need more.)

I have played The Darkness 2, Resident evil 5 and Dead space 2 without problem. But when I tried Spec Ops the Line I had major frame drops.

So what do you suggest? Do I need a new graphics card?

(Im new to PC btw)

I agree, you do need a better graphics card. Other specs seem fine.

I'd reckon you would end well with the Radeon HD 7850, look it up, pretty good bargain I'd say.

I'll be surprised if that graphics card can run minesweeper.

If you can give me a price range and your wattage on your power supply unit, I'll be happy to give some suggestions.

You need at least 550 watts in the range of the high-end graphics cards. That'll set you back 50-120 dollars.

Ok, do you think Antec PowerSupply (PSU) 650W EA-650 Platinum is good? I want to be able to play bf3 at 1080 p and with good frames. Do you have any recommendations on Graphics cards?

650W would suffice.

Do you have a set budget? We could short list some cards.

That's enough for a decent card

Is that with or without the cost of the power supply?

Without. The PSU cost 149 USD. Or do you think I should get: Antec PowerSupply (PSU) High Current Gamer 900W? It cost around 180 USD. Is it worth it?

Gigabyte GA-Z68P-DS3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Zalman Z9 Plus ATX Mid Tower

600W is the bare minimum now. I would suggest a 700W PSU for some leeway.

For $300, cards like the HD 7870 and 660 Ti are within reach.

  • 09.12.2012 6:15 AM PDT

Ok, so if I go with this;

Intel core i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00GHz (4CPUs)
6 gb ram
Antec PowerSuppy (PSU) High Current Gamer 750W
ASUS GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB

How well would it run BF3?

You don't need 750, even 700 will cater for SLI on that card.

So Cooler Master PowerSupply (PSU) GX Lite 700W maybe?
