He could get a Seagate 1TB for $70, which I trust more than the spinpoint. As for the SSD, 64GB seems a little low, so 128GB would be preferable if he can save money in other areas such as getting a 300R or a SeaSonic M12ii PSU. He wanted it under $1000, so of course 64GB is low, but it's fits his price range. He can just put the OS and frequently used programs on it. Also, I've heard more bad things about Seagates than most other manufacturers, so I'd rather go with a Samsung.
Also, the 7950>660ti, it's shown to have higher FPS than it, and the faster bus speed will be better than the 660ti's 192bit.

So the only other way to go multi monitor with BF3 (and other games) would be to not buy just one but two extra monitors? I can see how having the crosshair divided across the middle of two screens would be painful to play. Now the question is what current gen cards can actually handle 5760x1080 at higher quality settings. I'm guessing none unless you pay a small fortune for SLI GTX 680s or something of the sort. I'd assume it'd be best to go with AMD for a triple monitor setup, because of Eyefinity. Now I'm just guessing here, but I'd think a dual 7950 setup would work pretty good. But, that's just a guess.
