Here you are.

It can also do some light gaming if you want to. Also, if you'd like an SSD I can throw that in there as well.

Light gaming? I have the HD 7770, and I can max any game on the market with 45+ fps easy.
True, the 7770 isn't a slouch when it comes to gaming. From what I've heard, it can play BF3 at High at >60FPS.

I never dip below 40fps on ultra, with AA off, on BF3. It's a great budget card.

Looking to build a PC for my mother. It's an everyday computer, but she doesn't want it to be sluggish.

I'm looking to use MicroATX, as to keep the PC as compact as possible. No dedicated GPU.

The operating system will either be Windows 7, or go for a Hackintosh if she really wants to.

Can anybody give me a part list to start me off? I'm not quite sure what would be necessary for everyday use.

Here you go.

This will be great for exactly what they need. CPU with built in graphics. Micro motherboard and case.

It would come out to around $350, but with Windows 7, it's about $420.
Why would you get that processor?

And I didn't really mean light gaming. I guess I'm just used to using the 670.

It's cheap, and it's great for what it's meant for. They only want to use the computer for emails, and maybe the occasional movie. And it's a quad core that comes with a decent integrated card.

For that money I would get a Phenom X4, otherwise AMD chips are not that great compared to Intel chips even if the Core i3 is only dual core.

AMD's Sea Islands line-up, not sure of its legitimately but if true, may mark the return of "HDxx30" cards.

It's uncited so I'm giving it a benefit of doubt.

Anyone have good ASRock Z77 Extreme4 alternatives?

Asus Z77-V-LK

Or any version of it....except for the LX version.

Consider this build

If you want to use the power supply already in the PC case, then don't buy the power supply that I listed on there, but highly recommend you to.

And according to this video that power supply I selected should be compatible with the case.

That's what I said....

If he doesn't want the one that I included separately, then he can just use the built in one.

The reason why I included that power supply is because it's 80 Plus Certified.

Since everyone else is making you a build, here is what I would recommend:

Linky.

Because anything that they will be doing will rely more on the CPU than the iGPU, the i3 would be a great choice. 8GB of RAM is probably 4 more than they need, but for $20, why not? The case is awesome and has plenty of room. Heck, you can fit a 690 in there if you wanted. PSU isn't modular, but cable mess won't be an issue without a GPU. Since you mentioned the possibility of turning it into a hackintosh, I'm sure that you wouldn't mind "downloading" your OS.

The most important part that everyone else neglected was actually the HDD, or in this case, the SSD. If she's just watching movies, web browsing, and checking emails, the SSD would be a HUGE improvement in speed, more so than anything else that you could do. If you want to, you can always throw in a 1TB Seagate for $70 or buy an external USB3 HDD for storage.

Even if there is a Steam Black Friday sale, I doubt it will be on as big of a scale as the summer and winter sales are.
Steam sale that starts on Black Friday is the Winter sale, it's the same proportions.

I would consider installing a Linux distro as a secondary OS but I have two hard drives (SSD + HDD).

Would installing Ubuntu (for example) in the HDD affect boot times as Windows is installed in the SSD?

Well, it won't effect SSD, as the OS is installed on your HDD, right?
Then, I think it won't be effected at slightest.
I could be wrong though.

What is the most you're willing to spend?

And do you need a monitor, keyboard, headset, OS as well?

I want trips monitors, a good mmo style mouse, and a good keyboard that is not loud as all -blam!-. I'd prefer the keys to be laptop style, aka flat; and windows 7 64bit unless I can use my current cd for win 7 on a new computer. Also, the absolute cheapest that I can get that will be great quality. I'm working with an extremly limited budget.

Triple monitors? On an "extremely limited" budget?

You're going to have to be a lot more clear on the price or I wont be able to help you. Having a build that can run smoothly on three monitors can have you go well over $1000 or even $2000.

From the moment Bob's birth-cord was cut, every girl's hymen has belonged to him.

There must have been a dildo in that Wii control they found
For when they shoved it up his ass, he began to walk around, aaand
Chad Warden the fanboy, was as ABAP as can be
But the -blam!-es say, that he was mad -blam!-, and talked -blam!- on PS3

Salty is a huge -blam!-.
