Well, when you can legally build your own Mac, you're more than welcome to suggest it in this thread.

Alright. Time for Helpful tips/experiences.

1. Don't forget the brass standoffs
2. Yes, the cpu lever is hard to push down.
3. Make sure to put on TIM unless it's preapplied.
4. CABLE MANAGEMENT. I prefer to use zip ties.
5. GPU > CPU (for the typical Floodian).
6. Don't buy Windows unless you like supporting the company in which case buy OEM.
7. The more VRM phases on the mobo the better.
8. Buy an aftermarket cooler please.
9. Check overclockability of mobo/cpu before you buy.
10. When your computer doesn't POST, check the cables. I'm not even kidding. Even if you already checked 10 times.
11. And most importantly, DON"T FORGET STANDOFFS. Yes, I repeated that. It sucks having to undo everything to put them on.

Just some tips off the top of my head that I hope someone will find helpful.

Can someone have a look at my build please and tell me if there are any areas you would either improve on or shave off?

It's my first ever build and am desperate for some feedback. I would like to max Battlefield 3 and Skyrim, and would prefer not to have to upgrade for at least 5 years.

Also, I am physically building this myself as a hobby - so any advice would be great!

When buying the power supply for a dual graphics card setup, do you need a supply with the combined required wattage requirement of both or is there some middle ground? For example if you are using two graphics cards with a minimum wattage requirement of 250 watts each do you need a power supply that puts out a minimum of 500 watts?
