While yours is nice, I feel mine is nicer.

According to Passmark's CPU benchmarks, the 5800K is a lot more powerful than the 3220.

Your GPU is also less powerful.

I still say that mine is better for the price...
Really? My friend got a budget build and he loves his 7770, he says it runs most thinks on high.

I was comparing the 7770 (in your build) to the 7850 (in my build). In which case, the 7850 is better, although the 7770 is NOT a bad card at all.

I don't know what stores are available for your area, then. Just copy the serial number in the one I linked.

For future reference, Passmark is terrible for comparing real-world performance.

Anandtech is what I use cuz they run different tests and you can compare them individually on certain tasks

Uh....you'd get the same performance from both...they're just by different companies....

The companies who sell the 670, for example, can price it at whatever they feel is right. That's why the Gigabyte card is cheaper.

See, even Intels dual cores kill AMDs quad cores. I still don't understand why. Is it the architecture Intel uses?

Some intel dual cores kill the phenom x6

But the neat thing with anandtech is

That if you want specifics, you can close specific benchmarks, narrow them down to things like, video rendering and photo editing, so that if the cpu does better in certain respects that the other one overall does better, you can forget abour gaming graphics and narrow them down to what you need the CPU for, like photo editing, and if the cpu performs better in the respects that you need it to and not overall, it might be better suited for you than another cpu might be

But some companies might clock them higher by default. Other differences include the fact that ASUS has one of the best tech support systems out there, and the other being that ASUS GPU fans are much heavier.

Pretty much, as well as the quality of parts and the fact that manufacturers focus a lot more on Intel mobos than AMD mobos.

What's the difference between cards with coolers like Asus's and Gigabytes, and one's like EVGA, where you can't see the fans?

More fans usually means a cooler card

Not sure how the single turbine completely enclosed ones work, though

It works like this....

The air goes in through the top fan, and then the air goes out through the end of the card (where the video connectors are). This way, the air travels all throughout the card.

Personally, i'd rather have a fan design.

I thought I read somewhere you get a cooler card with an open design, but a hotter computer. But with a closed design, you get a hotter card with a cooler computer. Because with an open, the fans blow the heat out, and into the rest of the computer.

But, that's just what I heard, it could be wrong.

By how much? If it's like, 50 MHz or something, it's not really going to make much of a difference

I think you're right

The inside of my computer is a frost cave, but when I play games, I don't need central heating turned on, the card literally heats up the entire room.

My room is like, 2x3 though, and with a bed.

  • 10.07.2012 12:36 PM PDT

Hurr

Cystic, you can buy from Ebuyer, Scan, Novatech and CCL online.

The ASUS 670 has one of the best cooling designs and is the most silent 670. It allows for really high overclocking. And overclocking it by a few hundred MHz.
