And it depends, splatter, how many watts would you be getting for it?
Link related. It used to be cheaper, but it's gone up now.

It's worth the upgrade if you can afford it since it'll last you through more builds. I own a 650W and 750W SeaSonic Gold PSU.

For a few dollars more, you can get a muuuch better PSU.

I use drivers from the ASUS site and they worked fine.

No they don't?

No they don't. That's like saying a company that makes power supplies puts in random parts and capacitors when they make them because there's so many parts they can't keep track of what they put in them. And if it breaks your computer? Oh well.
I should have worded my sentence better. I mean I'm sure they have some incorrect drivers on their sites.
Judging by how often I've come across this, I'd say somewhere around 1 every 500 for the less reliable companies (I'm actually thinking of hp here, although I think their products are fine), and maybe 5 every 4 or 5000 for the more reliable companies. When I say reliable, I mean with driver hosting alone.
Honestly, though, it seems to happen far more with pre-built computer drivers rather than individual part drivers, so I can see why none of you believe me =P

Like Fluffy said, it'll probably be best to buy the other one considering the price, that it's fully modular and it will leave you room to do SLI in the future.

I hear bad things about the reliability on OCZ's parts, and with a brand like SeaSonic you know you're getting a very reliable PSU.

The promo code is already applied to the price...it's more money.

Plus, you can pick up that OCZ PSU from NCIX for $75.

It's not, actually. For one, on the page it says you save $50 when the promo code says you save $40, so really you're saving $90.

It's not applied to the price. It's a promo code. Try it out.

And SeaSonic literally makes the best PSU's, bar none. Corsair buys all of their PSU's from SS and rebrand them to sell.

Flood Kids? Lol.

Thanks to the guy on the last page for posting those sales, I was going to buy BF3 inevitably within the next month, but 10$ instead of 40$? What a steal!

Isn't corsair the working man's high-quality psu division from the same people who brought you ss

Well....one of the best ways is to use compressed air....or a lead blower works just fine....which I did on a computer before.

XD

Compressed air is all you need. Just be careful when cleaning the fans. If you don't hold them in place, you can spin them fast enough to wear out the bearings.

  • 10.08.2012 3:56 PM PDT

It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no telling where you might be swept off to.

Okay, a few more questions. I have still been looking at video cards and I have kind of narrowed it down to two specific models.

The MSI 660 Ti PE

and

The XFX Radeon HD 7950 Black Edition

What one should I go for? The 7950 is only about $25 more expensive.

1. Is it worth it? Will I even see much of a difference in quality (I am playing in 1080p)?

2. Is one card more future proof than the other?

3. What about reliability? I have heard that Nvidia is in general more reliable than AMD.

4. How hard it it to overclock each of the cards? I have no experience in this area so it would be nice if it wasnt too difficult.

The 7950 would be easier to overclock. They are nearly on-par in terms of performance but I chose the 7950 because it was cheaper.

Future proofing? The 7950 would be better for that since it has a faster memory bus and higher VRAM.

Honestly, the only nVidia card worth its price is the 670, and that's only if you plan to mainly play PhysX games or only run 1080p.

You can see the results here. As you can see, the nVidia card plays Portal and BF3 better, but when it comes to Crysis at high res, it gets swamped.

In which game?

I've never done it but I believe it's app-specific. Plus you would need to have a sufficiently high-end CPU.

He has an i3, so it wouldn't do it very well.

Most games have a setting in the .ini that you have to edit. You would need to mention a specific game.
