The P8Z77 WS runs 8x8x8x8x, the Extreme Z77 runs 16x8x8x8x, and probably a few other boards I can't think of. ;D
Yeah, but you need a motherboard with the 2011 socket to run off x16x16

An i7 2600k would give you your best bang-to-buck ratio, although it lacks the 40-lane PCI support that an Ivy (3770k) would have. I'd go with the Ivy if you have the money.

For the GPU, AMD handles multi-monitors better. A 7970 would be perfect, again, if you have the money.
Why not a 3770k? I'm sure there's gonna be some good sales going on right now for those. And if you can afford it, get a 7970 for multimonitor support, or a 670. If that's too much, then definitely a 7950. Also, I didn't know you could SLI two different GPUs?

You can't. You can put them both in the motherboard, but it wont do anything.

Would this work with my HAF X case and my ASUS Maximus V MOBO? I'm confident the length will work, but will the USB headers themselves work? If I remember correctly one of you guys has a HAF X.

And do any of you foresee problems occurring with my computer (linky), a monitor or two, connected to this surge protector? Any surge protector that is better that is similarly priced?

There is no point, not sure what he was thinking doing that.

Yeah, you can. They can't work in tandem like regular SLI, but you can assign one card to run nVidia-specific AA settings or PhysX.

I need some places where I can buy my PC parts at. I'm trying to find out which places have the cheapest deals. Here's the stores that I know of so far:

Newegg
NCIX
CompUSA
Amazon
Microcenter

What other places can I buy PC parts at?

Microcenter, I don't care how far it is, they have great deals right now. I'm going this Friday to get a 3570k for 169.99, plus a Asrock Extreme 3 for $100($40 off).

Holy -blam!-, that's a good deal. Do you think it'd be worth it for that price to get a $99 2500k over a $169 3750k?

I'd go for the newer architecture. To be honest, you're not missing much if you opt for Sandy Bridge. Haswell is where it's at as Ivy Bridge is a Sandy Bridge dye shrink with some added features.

The 2500K is a good deal. It's a great overclocker and runs cooler than Ivy Bridge.

Keep in mind though that sandy pridge lacks PCIe 3.0 support, so if you have a more high end video card it might be somewhat limiting.

But I have a 2600k and a 670 FTW and I don't have any problems, so it should be fine. And yes, sandy bridge does run cooler because it's heat spreader is soldered onto the chip whereas Ivy bridge had theirs attached with thermal paste (meaning you can remove it, but it would void the warranty.)

Ok since you guys were clearly too confused to answer my post let's try something different!!!

If I buy a USB 3.0 header can I just plug it into my MOBO (Asus Formula V Z77) and use it? Any updates or driver that I will have to download?
