I'd say there's about a 10% chance of receiving a bad stick upon shipment.

I have the EVGA 670 FTW.
Just out of curiosity, what would its AMD equivalent be?

According to most benchmarks, it would be the 7950 but since it's the FTW edition meaning a higher core and memory clock it would likely be slightly higher.

Also I just got home so I don't know if this was posted but Intel is staying with sockets: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/intel_says_company_comm itted_sockets2012

In price. For speed, it's the 7950.

This is the PC I plan on building, let me know if I can save money anywhere or get a better deal anywhere.
CPU: I would get an Ivy bridge that's priced similarly.
Mobo: Fine
RAM: Fine. It's CAS 8 as opposed to 9, which is why it's $10 more, but it also matches the color scheme.
SSD: You're going to run out of space really quick, so don't expect to put anything other than programs on that.
HDD: If you like WD, go for it. A Seagate would be faster, but it's mostly personal preference.
GPU: Fine.
Case: DO NOT GET! Look at the pictures. The outside looks good, but the inside is just awful. No rubber grommets? Please. Check out the Corsair 400R.
PSU: You need at least 500W, but 600W would provide optimum efficiency (60-80% load). I suggest the Neo ECO as a low end. You'll also need to buy a power cord as it does not come with one.
Optical: Fine.

My Corsair Vengeance 4x4 1600Mhz says you look UGLY Gskill!!!
Funny. I used to run 2x4GB 1866 MHz Corsair Vengeance and I swapped it out for G.Skill :P Lifetime warranty = best.

I don't know how much you guys know about RAID, but anyway I have a 240GB SSD, and a 1TB HDD in my build. If I bought a 2TB HDD would I be able to RAID it so that it automatically backs up both the drives? Or would I have to buy 2 back up drives??? Sorry I can't remember which RAID # it is.I stay away from RAID, so I don't know much about how to do it. I don't trust the risks.

Ew, low profile
The only good low profile is this. I managed to overclock it to 2133 MHz and 9-9-9-24-1T latency.

I'm just going to end up putting the OS and Sony Vegas on the SSD.

Looks like a decent build, the only thing you would miss out is Physx enabled ingame options, which isn't that much of a loss.
10/10 would buy if I had to.

It's not good at all for what it costs, and that processor is not very powerful either.

Is that a prebuilt? Could you build one instead?

Not great enough a chance, and I'm sure Corsair has at least a 1 year warranty.

I'm not sure how much that translates to in dollars, but I think it's about high 600s, low 700s. And for that price, no, it's not very good at all. Also, you don't really need a water cooler.

Just trying to see what's out there as I might consider buying / building a PC in the near future. As you can tell I'm not very knowledgeable on the matter. Can anyone suggest a decent build for $950ish?

Why have you always suggested that $150 Gigabyte mobo in the past 20 builds you've posted when an AsRock or ASUS would perform better for less?

nVidia closed beta changes your settings to ultra for you. It's difficult to actually figure out how good it is when they're comparing PhysX on and off. Of course, it's only useful for budget cards.

Just a quick Gfx card question.
So while I definitely love high demand games like BF3 and Metro, I also really love Skyrim and Fallout, which, I think, are comparatively low demand.
If I get a really high end graphics card, would it still be worth it if perhaps I play Fallout or Skyrim more often? Similarly, will the card stay cooler/run quieter if it's not doing a lot of work?

Don't we all?
If I get a really high end graphics card, would it still be worth it if perhaps I play Fallout or Skyrim more often?Definitely. Who doesn't want to play Skyrim at 120+ FPS? Similarly, will the card stay cooler/run quieter if it's not doing a lot of work? Not really. It will run until it hits some sort of bottleneck, but will generate as many frames within a second as it can unless vsynch is enabled. It doesn't matter because it's pretty much impossible to overheat a GPU unless you OC it too far (old nVidia 4xx cards ran at 90*C often).
