Which drivers do I need from this list? Also which ones do would be good to have, if not essential?

http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=Z77%20Extreme4&am p;o=All
Better link.

1) Download the drivers to an external HDD and then install it to the computer.

2) If you don't have an external HDD, install only the internet driver from the disc and then install the other drivers from the website. You want to install as few drivers from the disc as you can, preferable only that one ethernet driver if you have to.

Not all of the drivers on that page are essential, but you might as well install all of them.

Hey guys, I need help finding an adapter splutter connector thing. I need a cord where I can plug my headphones in and the two audio cables from my Xbox. I think the Xbox audio cables are called RCA? So both ends should be female.

In short, a cord with a 3.5mm female and an RCA female end.
Here
Thanks but I can't buy it alone. That is one of amazons add on items. I'd have to make a purchase of 25$ or greater to get the cable.

You can't afford the $2 shipping costs? That's the only one I could find on Amazon quickly.

Posted in this thread a long time ago asking for a good build for a PC that'll mainly be used for video editing projects and art. Gave up trying to find it so can anyone help me out?
My budget is $1,500.
Pefect.

Do NOT get it until an SSD goes on sale. Keep an eye on this forum. When you see an Intel, Crucial, or Samsung 256GB go on sale, buy it.

I got my 240GB Intel 335 for $155 of Black Friday. Worth waiting for a sale. Maybe there will be a new years sale.

You know, if he lives near a microcenter he can get the 3820 for $90 off and get a $200 X79 board. And if he doesn't he could always spend just slightly less on the case or the PSU to get it.

Doe anyone have experience with adapters? The Matrix 7970 has 4 DisplayPort ports and 2 DVI ports. And the monitor I want has DVI and HDMI (Plus D-sub or whatever).

Now, it does have a DVI to HDMI adapter, but I want to avoid DVI. So, that leaves me with buying this DP to HDMI connector. Will this have an affect of the video quality? (1920x1080) I think not, but just wanted to know what you guys thought.

The only reason I would see to not use DVI would be if you want to have sound going to the monitor as well. DVI on dual-link can support higher resolutions than HDMI. I've personally used DVI-to-HDMI adapters before (for the sole reason that I ran out of DVI input ports) and everything worked fine. Interestingly, if you go HDMI-to-DVI and then DVI-to-HDMI you still have sound.

A good case and PSU will last you ten years. A motherboard and CPU would last five at the most.

You'd benefit more from the increase of performance and functionality of the X79 chipset than you would a slightly more expensive case. Chances are he wont ever need that 750W either.

This is a better model 670.

If you're using one monitor, get the 670. If you're using more, get the 7970.

Salty, there's something you need to know. Not everyone who builds computers is a gamer. He asked for a media-centric PC. The 3820 is no better than the 3770 for media. Video editing would not benefit from the 40x bandwidth. The only plausible upgrade would be the quad-channel RAM, and that's definitely not worth $100 extra. That case will provide much better airflow for his components and have plenty of space for addition hard drives, which he will have in the future.

There's another thing that you don't seem to understand about PSU's. You never want to just purchase enough wattage for your system. You want 60% of your watts being used for maximum efficiency. You're young, so you probably don't look at your parents electric bills. An efficient PSU will pay itself off in a year.

Yes, those are both good cards. Sapphire and EVGA are trustworthy brands.

I've never seen the 670 FTW LE. Is it just a normal 670 on a 680 PCB, or something?

Which edition of the 670 is better?
I have the 670 OC edition, and I wonder how it preforms against the FTW edition.

FTW is made with the cards that naturally OC higher, and is stock-clocked higher as well.

And the only real difference is the price?
As Newegg has the OC edition at 399$ while the the FTW is 370$.
I mean, is there any noticeable difference?

The standard FTW 670 is clocked even higher than the FTW LE. The LE edition is only overclocked by like, <40MHz so you probably wouldn't notice a difference but for the same price as the standard 670 you would want to get it anyway.

This is also a good 670: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168141276 85

Overclocked, 2 free games, better cooling, $375.

How easy is it to overclock the 670? That's the main reason I'd side towards the 7970, because you can overclock it to insane amounts. If I can do the same with the the 670, I'd go with that instead. And I am thinking about getting a second monitor, but not for awhile. I'd only be gaming on one monitor though, if that makes a difference. But if I do chose the 670, should I go with the EVGA or MSI one?

This is a review for another card, but it compares a lot of them. There are multiple benchmarks shown, too.

The 7970, especially at higher resolutions, does outperform the 670 and even the 680.

I really only plan on playing at 1920x1080, so super high resolution shouldn't really matter.

Then no, not really. I could build one for you and show you the parts to chose, but the end result wouldn't be in your currency, is that fine?
