The first link is bad, it just brings me to a page with all their products.
whoops, my bad. fix'd.
Yeah, you bought the right thing. It's probably something on your routers end. It could be something about how your router is only 802.11b/g, and the PCI card is N, but I really don't think that is the problem.

Either way, I'd recommend a new router just because you'll be getting slower speeds, since the router is G, and not N.

You guys, it is time I inquire.

Check it.

In this guide, I don't know which is a better buy; the Great build, or the Excellent build. Is the i5 really going to keep my rig up to date for that much longer? Is the x4 going to bottleneck the 560ti?

My computer is just slightly above the Extremist section.

Overall, interesting guide image. I might show it to some friends.

Sweet, thanks for the update man. Going to see if I can get the Superb one then, just seems like the i5 would last much longer than an i3 in terms of upgrades.

i5 is very good for anything other than video and photo editing, where the i7 pulls ahead.

So Superb it is then!

Super stoked to get into PC gaming in full. Right now I'm just toying about in games like Morrowind and Nexuiz. Can't wait to play Skyrim on my PC!

Since this is like, the computer hardware thread, do you guys know of any jobs like this? Where you build computers and sell them?

Or something along those lines.

There's bound to be a PC shop in your area that repair computers and sell parts, just find out where and ask if they have any placements.

People build PC custom for people as a side job. Not a bad idea if you have experience there are plenty of people who want a custom PC, but don't want to build it themselves.

Not really as a full time job.

Doesn't really matter, GPU carries a lot of the gaming performance, I'm maxing BF3 on an i3, but that's a bad comparison cause all I needed was a good GPU. Of course that doesn't mean get a IBM processor from the 90s, just make sure your priority is the GPU.

Does anyone here run a high res monitor (Higher than 1920x1080 or 1920x1200). I am getting interested in one, when the price calms down, or getting 3 1920x1080p's.

Also, no I do not want it for gaming (well sort of =p. I will use it for productivity and movies and crap.

At work I use a 2560x1600 monitor. Beyond being able to make the icons and interface smaller, I'm not exactly in-awe with it to be honest.

Well would you recommend it for a college kid needing to use it for research? If my tabs and stuff becomes too cluttered, I get too distracted and get angry.

If it will help me get better grades, I don't care what the cost is honestly as long as it's under >$1000

It is nice for when you have lots of tabs and such open since you can still see them, but I think you'd be better off going with a dual-monitor setup and extending the image across both monitors.

Ok thanks, 1080p monitors are cheap now days. I just want to work the most productive way I can in college. Tough schedule =[

If you think an extra monitor will help you get better grades, you're in for a shock. You shouldn't need too many tabs open at a time anyway; once you know what you're researching, you can refine. Plus a lot of it's in good ol' fashioned books. Well at least here, anyway.
