Gots another question. Ive decided to sell my current computer case that I have had for a whole like 2 weeks, to upgrade to one that has better cable management (i.e. that whole fake back to them thing).

Any suggestions? Preferably under $100. And with a see through side panel to see all the pretty insides (as I am overly concerned with the aesthetic aspect)

Bonus points if it is a weird looking/excessively badass looking case.

Not entirely sure about them, but the reviews seem good, so check these out I guess.

I don't want the touch screen on my computer. If that's what you are asking?
Pre-builted.
Personally, I recommend Thinkpads, especially the T series. You can do a decent amount of customization when making your order, they have a couple different processors, choice of built-in graphics or an actual card, and lots of other things.[/url]

The T series is really known for it's durability too.

Don't link a laptop if he didn't specifically ask for it.

I want a small laptop. I've got a 17" Dell and I used to use that at university, but I knocked it around a little too much which lead to the HDD screwing over and I lost everything.

I want something with a SSD and decent battery life (Current laptop has 6+ hours... anything equal or even better than that would be nice). Not really what the thread is for... but anyone have any suggestions?

You probably wont need to upgrade anything for like ten years. You have a large SSD, amazing processor, 2 high powered graphics cards.

Damn.

Okay guys I think I may have a final build. Tell me what you think!

HP Pavilion with:
1.5 TB hard drive
10 GB RAM
AMD Six-Core FX-6100 Processor with gt 520
6mb cache memory
Corsair Enthusiast Series 650-Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Power Supply
EVGA - GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card
From research I have done this should play BF3 on high to ultra settings. I hope it does!

As in the graphics card? I have researched this to no end and many youtube videos show the card running BF3 on ultra settings. My research also hasnt just been youtube videos, I have spent hours on the internet and many people have said the same. I dont know where else to go for a video card then because $130 is my top price for one. the 550ti is $114 so it seems to be the best choice. If you have any recommendations let me know.

Ok, the power supply I wanted is out of stock (IT WASN'T YESTERDAY AFIOEFJIE). I'm not the best at this, can anyone recommend a power supply with 600+ watts for ~80-120$?

  • 07.04.2012 12:19 PM PDT

This one is reaaaally nice/quiet. Just be aware that if you have a big case, the CPU cord might need an extension.

It doesn't suck since I can run Skyrim maxed out at 60 FPS. But I do realize it is not top of the line.

At 1920x1080?! I thought Skyrim was graphicly demanding, but yeah the only thing, other than your CPU which would be a pain, the GPU it the only thing that isn't very good.

Ultra settings? At what, 640 x 480 resolution?

I'm reading up on it now, and every video I've seen has has 30FPS on low settings. Essentially, you're playing the Xbox version.

But a good card for $130 is the AMD 6850. It's a bit better than the 550ti and costs about the same.
