What kind of GPU do you guys think will be suitable for PlanetSide 2?

What does "suitable" mean? Max settings triple 1080p monitors at 60FPS? Or lower setting one monitor at 30FPS. It's all your preference, and budget.

Also, $600? What can you get for that except a CyberPowerPC?

This should do fine. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bpcd

Hmm, that is a nice build for my needs. I would maybe add another graphics card and some memory, but that is a very good build nonetheless.
And it's so cheap! We are selling a crap ton of stuff because I recently expanded my room upstairs and I need to get rid of the crap in the other room. This is a good thing about being an only child, you get all the room you need :P
We are splitting the profit, so this build is a possibility. Added this to my link pool :D

Also, I'm getting $100 for my awesome grades, this may be a big winner!

Alright guys, I think I have made a good design, would you change anything?
I have a monitor so don't recommend me that or a mouse/keyboard.
$1200 is a bit much, but I think that is a good design.

You might want to bump up the power supply, because running Crossfire can use a lot of power(I read on Toms Hardware forum, a single 6870 uses 168 watts). Also, for about ten dollars more, you could bump up your processor to an i5-2500(K), which I think is worth the extra amount of money. Also, just be careful with Western Digitals, I've heard a lot of bad things about them, and the one you chose has almost as many 1 stars as it does 4 stars.

This good?

I upped the wattage by 120 watts and chose a better HDD.

Alright, there was one for $85 that is 6 GB/s
Cheaper than what you were getting :P

Also, is the motherboard a bit much? I mean, Asus is really good, and I have used Asus boards before, but should I get a lower-quality one or is that fine for it? Money is a big concern but I will pay $50 more to have more power.

Keep the RAM, but in all honesty you may need to upgrade he processor, GPU and motherboard.

What games are you looking at playing, and on what specs? If you wanted ultra-everything, it would be easier starting from scratch...

I would like to play most games decently. Nothing hardcore. I'm also on a tight budget...

I just thought of something, you could upgrade to 8-16 gigs of RAM, and upgrade your GPU to a Sapphire Radeon HD 6870.

How's this?

Corsair makes very good RAM, and computer parts in general. I recommend using pcpartpicker.com to find upgrades right for you, as you can customize and it even tells you incompatibilities with certain parts. Just make sure everything is compatible with each other before buying. Opening your case helps you see how many RAM slots you have, and Crucial.com has an option where you can put in your computer model and it tells you what type of RAM and how much of it your computer needs/can handle.

His Dell Inspiron wont fit a big GPU like the 6870. The motherboards are also "locked". It's better for him starting fresh over and selling his Dell for cheap

Oh yeah...
I suggested he just build his own in the thread he made. Then I suggested to come here.
I forgot how un-customizable Dells are. Then again, I can't speak much. I still have a crappy HP D:

I just need m0n3h for my build.

Who the hell do you think I am?

Isn't that Intel Express Chipset an integrated graphics unit?

If so, then definitely don't get it. Integrated graphics cards can only run games like Minecraft at <2 FPS and you cant take them out or replace them as they are stuck to the MOBO (I know from experience).

Why all the RAM? 2x4 is good enough for gaming.

@KeyboardWarrior Are you the say guys as the one you quoted? If you I think the GTX670 would do fine, but I'm don't know anything about PlanetSide 2

Because $40 is a small price to pay to go overkill :P

I believe I have perfected it! My only concern is if the power supply is powerful enough. Can anybody tell me? Is there any other option to save money, or is this about as good as it gets for the power I want, which is being able to play any game on Maximum, with over 90 FPS?

I hope you didn't just simply put the fan back on the CPU like that....

To answer your question:

1. Motherboard
2. Some sort of controller presumably
3. RAM
4a. CPU 4b. Some sort of case fan, presumably from the back.
5. PCI slots
6. Hard drive

That PSU is cutting it awfully close from what I can tell. You might experience issues when everything is running at full since you have very little "comfort" room. I also can't say if you'll get 90 FPS on every game either.

Ok. Could someone tell me two things?

1) Why choose an Intel i5 over an Intel i3 processor? (assume both are Ivy Bridge) Does it impact the GPU performance at all (let's say a 560 Ti, 570, or 670?)

2) What cases are the best and cheapest for the following criteria; good cable management and window panel? I like Corsair's Obsidian series, but it's kinda pricey...Anyone know of a similar case, but cheaper?

Thanks!

edit: I'll probably never buy anything because every day I make a new build. SO MUCH INDECISION!

Actually, it's more like:
1. Motherboard
2. Chipset
3. RAM
4. CPU (I also hope you didn't place the fan back on like that.)
5. PCI Slots
6. Storage Drive

You were wrong on only 3 of the parts: #'s 2, 4b (Which was his CPU's fan) and 6, which technically wasn't wrong, but it was incorrect to state it simply as a Hard Drive.
