But wouldn't they take up space, create more heat, and draw more power? And do you have to configure that in the BIOS, I might do it.
I don't believe you have to configure the BIOS for anything unless you are overclocking or switching between harddrives to boot from.
Memory does not draw a lot of power, for 4 sticks maybe10-25 Watts. If you are using them heavily, maybe a bit more. Also, they don't generate enough heat to cause a problem.
I don't know what you mean by space though. If you mean future upgrades, you could just buy 4 sticks of 6GB or 8GB or higher.
Physical space, all 4 RAM slots.
I don't see how space is an issue, 2 sticks of ram take up just as much space, except about halved. I don't see how about 5" will make much of a difference.
Also, computers use RAM to a greater effect the more spread out it is. That is why people tell you not to just have 1 stick of, say, 16GB, because performance won't be as good. I'm just suggesting maximum power for an equal price. An i7 costs just as much as what he noted, but I never said he has to take my advice.
I'm just doin' it for the sake of argument! ;) And I'm going to do 4 RAM sticks or my 3770K build, ALOT cheaper!
