Hey, Wargamer, does that Motherboard support a soundcard? I'm picking up some cheap 7.1 surround sound headphones and I need a sound card to utilize the 7.1 SS to its full potential.

Who the hell do you think I am?

I have successfully built my first computer

Pretty sure that all motherboards now a days support a sound card.

What's up guys. I just realized that I need to be gunning for an even cheaper build, so I pieced one together.

So yeah, is everything good with this build? Another question, could I upgrade this to a HD 7850 without issue?

I need to use my magic on this build...

OS
Case
CPU
Motherboard
GPU
RAM
Hard drive
Optical drive
Power supply

BUILD TOTAL: $647.56 (WITH shipping)

You are welcome my friend, and i'm glad that I could help.
:)

That is a good build, however, I would recommend the 6670 (I'm pretty sure that's dual graphics compatible) or another card such as that so you can Crossfire that with the APU's built in stuff (Albeit the 460 is still an excellent card)

  • 07.13.2012 11:39 AM PDT

I went to best buy yesterday and was really surprised to see they sell H100's.

The 6670 isn't as good as the 460...they're not even comparable.

  • 07.13.2012 12:58 PM PDT

In the guide will you put in a part for installing the OS? That's the part that confuses me.

  • 07.13.2012 1:04 PM PDT

Guys, I have no idea where to even start. I know nothing about computers at all. I'm wanting to build a computer to be able to play Fallout 3,F:NV,and Skyrim and adding mods to them with a budget of about 500 dollars. Is that a good price range? Should I go higher? What parts should I get?

Its cheaper and with Crossfire it should be at least close to the 460.

I can't help you out nearly as much as the others can, but you can take a look at this grid and find your price range. Once you're there, Youtube your graphics card and then a game of your choice.

That'll give you an idea on how you can run that game (I think).

Price wise, it comes out to be more than the 460 and the Micro ATX board doesn't support Crossfire nor SLI.

You misunderstand sir, the 6670 can crossfire with the APU (Actually its called Dual graphics or something like that, but the basic principle is the same) Not sure if the motherboard could do it however.

I have a question on Crossfire and SLI.

Is it really worth it? I mean, why not just upgrade to a new GPU? I've heard people say that utilizing dual GPU's increases your performance by at least 100%, but idunno.

That should do everything okay. If necesarry you can add a 6670 to that as well. And unless my math is wrong, that should be under 500. And thanks to Topwar since I piggy backed a bit off of his.

-Edit- It's 515 including shipping. If that is too much, you can decrease it to one stick of RAM and get a lower wattage PSU.

Don't have any experiences here, but I can try an answer.

I don't believe so, unless you want to really have your computer go for the next half a decade without even thinking of upgrading. However, if you are getting a cheap graphics card, having two of them I guess makes sense, I don't know though.

In that case, I don't think I'll plan on making use of that; ever :P

I have a question about pcpartpicker, however.

Does the finalized price include, tax as well as shipping and handling?

Well in your builds case I think it would be a good idea later on, since you're graphics card while good isn't the best, and in a year or two will be dirt cheap (Or gone, whichever comes first) and then you should get it and put it in, it would be a good investment I thinks

However I would REALLY recommend picking up the 6670 as well, it's like 60 bucks and doubles your graphical processing power, in addition to making sure you can at least run games (I know in Intel Integrated graphics it doesn't even run a lot of them, not sure with APU's though)
