I got these cheeseburgers man....

In the guide will you put in a part for installing the OS? That's the part that confuses me.
What part confuses you? That should be one of the most straightforward parts of the whole thing.

I have a question on Crossfire and SLI.

Is it really worth it? I mean, why not just upgrade to a new GPU? I've heard people say that utilizing dual GPU's increases your performance by at least 100%, but idunno.

Depends

You can get a single GPU setup with a 6870 that maxes everything

Or you absolutely need all that power for benchmarking or something

How are the choices on this page?
If they are any good, what's the best?

A lot of them have good processors, but bad graphics processors, which is the most important component in gaming.

the flood, there a bunch of jerks, but there my jerks.

Just build your own. You have to be pretty stupid to not be able to do it. Prebuilts suck, and are overpriced.

But it's either the ones with the 7770 or 550 Ti. Just build your own. We could even select parts for you.

Just buy directly from Cyberpower, you can customize there as well which is good.

What do I need to get in order to use wireless internet? I mean the exact name of the part?

I'm a little confused and have seen several parts that seem to all do the job, but I doubt it.

edit: I mean built into the desktop rig, btw.

You need a wireless card. The saying "you get what you pay for" applies heavily with these devices. The tower I'm on right now uses a Linksys Wireless G card from the stone age and it works just fine (since I got it while in the stone age). This one looks nice.

Made a thread about it, but I just bought these parts and they are being shipped to me now. This is my first PC build; and it was roughly $650 US dollars. Did I do well?

You can get a USB one as well, since the one linked above ONLY works with standard PCI slots, not 2.0 or 3.0 just regular PCI.

You did really well from what I see, however you still need an OS, not sure if you just didn't include it, that's the only true mistake you made (I would've gotten a bulldozer and a PCI 3.0 compatible motherboard, along with faster RAM) other then that you did great man!

Thanks! I got Windows 7 Pro on disk for only 30 bucks. Student discount. So I'm good on the OS.

Ordered it online through Digital River. $29.99 for Windows 7 Pro. $5.95 for shipping. The only thing they did was confirm my college email address and that it was a real school.

Also got MS Office Pro 2010 for $79.95 from them too.

I bought mine a little while ago for my school/work laptop. It wasn't an upgrade though, it was the actual OS, usable on up to 3 PC's.

Here are MS's current deals for students. Windows 7 Pro Upgrade for $65. Office Pro 2010 for $100. Not bad, but not as good as before.

You might be able to work out something with MS. Talk to their support. I'm not sure though, I'll look around more.

Your college....is purely awesome.

The reason why i'm wondering about Windows 7 prices and whatnot is because......I screwed up big time on my computer and downloaded the Windows 8 without making a new partition...so it replaced my Windows 7.

The only way for me to get Windows 7 back without having to pay $100 for it is to do a factory reset on my computer....which will wipe all memory off of my computer.

I'm not in college (i'm only 15), but my mom is still in college, so I may be able to get Windows 7 for cheap or for free....
*Fingers crossed*

I'm pretty sure you can download an ISO of the same version of Windows 7, put it on a USB and install it. After that, the product key that's on the sticker on your PC should work.

Not 100% sure though.
