I'm getting two copies of Windows 7 free at my college, I win :D

Your college....is purely awesome.

The reason why i'm wondering about Windows 7 prices and whatnot is because......I screwed up big time on my computer and downloaded the Windows 8 without making a new partition...so it replaced my Windows 7.

The only way for me to get Windows 7 back without having to pay $100 for it is to do a factory reset on my computer....which will wipe all memory off of my computer.

I'm not in college (i'm only 15), but my mom is still in college, so I may be able to get Windows 7 for cheap or for free....
*Fingers crossed*

If you have a laptop, a windows 7 seal will be on the bottom. If you have a desktop, it should be on the back or one of the sides. It will have your product key. You legally own Windows 7.

Just download a Windows 7 Home Premium ISO from online, burn it to a disc, and use your key. Either way, you're going to lose your data during a "downgrade" unless you have a good USB card or external hard drive to transfer over music, pictures, etc.

I have good news! I'll finally be able to build my own computer.....in February.

It'll be worth it though....because i'll have a $1,300 - $1,500 budget. Maybe even more.

Yes, it was. And it wasn't too hard. Just getting in certain screws and the cable management can be a little awkward.

That's a nice ass build Chip!

I have a question though, how does one manage cables inside their PC? I know it means to organize them, but how exactly do you do that? Also, aside from aesthetics, what are the benefits of cable management? Less heat?

Better air flow so your case will be cooler. There might be another reason also, dunno.

Also, as to how to organize them, it depends on the case. Some have a sort of "fake back wall" (dunno what the actual term is) that you can put all the cords behind and just bring out the ones you want.
If it doesnt have that, and the power supply is not modular, you just kinda have to zip tie them together in a way that makes them look more organized.

To the below comment, yeah, a lot of times the case comes with zip ties of some sort. If not, they would be cheap at any store.

What do you need to manage cables? Just, cable ties? Do those tend to come with the parts?

Oh, alright.

Oh, alright.

Cable ties is a big part of it.You get as many wires as you can together and tie them together.

You know how on cases there's the main panel that you can take off and that's how you insert your hardware? Well on the other side, on some cases, there's another panel that you can open up and then you stuff all of your wires back there. There would be holes in the interior to fit the wires through to get them on that side.

There will be an area behind the motherboard tray where you will be able to fit your cables, and openings where you can put them behind. Zip-ties are a big help, too.

Really old, I mean REAALLLY OOLD. Like 3 years old. If you intend to play modern games with that dinosaur, you won't last long. And if you last at all you will be playing lowest settings at FPS <30. But when you factor in price with the LCD I suppose it is decent value. I would give it a 4/10 JUST for the price. But for modern gaming it is no good, and why pre built?

Get this build instead. It's a lot more powerful than your current build.

Also, don't spend $100 on MS Office, instead, use Open Office. It's free and 100% legal. It has the same type of programs as MS Office does.

I didn't see any changes with the build except the GPU (I am not familiar with NVIDI, was the one you linked better than the top-tier AMD 7000 series I had?)

wtf? The AMD Radeon on cyberpower is much cheaper, and i looked up the statistics comparing all of them, it wasn't that significant that I would blow an extra 100 on, Battlefield 3 was the only game I saw a big jump in FPS, and I can live with a few games not being maxed
Plus aren't NVIDIA someone hard on power usage and internal heat?
