Get this build instead. It's a lot more powerful than your current build.

Also, don't spend $100 on MS Office, instead, use Open Office. It's free and 100% legal. It has the same type of programs as MS Office does.

I didn't see any changes with the build except the GPU (I am not familiar with NVIDI, was the one you linked better than the top-tier AMD 7000 series I had?)

Indeed.....MUCH MUCH MUCH better.

wtf? The AMD Radeon on cyberpower is much cheaper, and i looked up the statistics comparing all of them, it wasn't that significant that I would blow an extra 100 on, Battlefield 3 was the only game I saw a big jump in FPS, and I can live with a few games not being maxed
Plus aren't NVIDIA someone hard on power usage and internal heat?

The 500 and 600 series aren't too bad.

Also, use Passmark's GPU list and compare the 7850 and 670. There is a HUGE performance difference. AMD's top card right now (the 7970) isn't even as good as the 670, and they're both the same price.

EDIT: Cyberpower's FPS counter isn't too accurate.

I've been playing Halo since 2002. My earliest memories include hiding at the shotgun window on Damnation and killing my dad with grenades while playing co-op on Pillar of Autumn.

You could get a considerably bigger hard drive for like $20 more. Also, you might be able to save some money and get ram that isnt like $9/gb. Idunno, just a thought.

Also, suppose I should ask, what are you gonna be using your rig for?

Hi Gang.

So I have bought all of my parts now, and am just waiting for the GPU to arrive.

is there any harm in me assembling what I have, and then adding the GPU next week when I get it? Or should I just wait until then and build the whole thing from scratch?

Also, are there any integrated graphics with the motherboard? So I could maybe install some of my less-demanding Steam purchases? Or do I have to have my GPU in it to run?

Thanks.

I'm impatient. Which is why I was asking if there were any problems with doing so...

I can't see why it would be a problem. If it has integrated graphics you'll be able to run less demanding games until your GPU comes.

How do I know if it has integrated graphics? That was the second question in my original post?

It should say it in either msinfo or dxdiag.

That all depends. No idea what your board is, so no clue if it has integrated graphics or not.

Haha, that's a quality game!

Actually, I think at one stage I ran Halo 2 Vista on low settings using integrated graphics.

Ouch.

I've done Halo PC on integrated, too. Lowest everything, still choppy.

Now I'm not 100% sure, but I know most MOBOs have integrated graphics cards, along with an HDMI port off the back on the back panel audio plate. Now you might be able to use that until you get a GPU, but again I'm not too sure.

My build
I plan on using this for gaming.
Is there anything I should change? Should any parts be upgraded? Also, should I bump the processor down to an i5 and upgrade the graphics card? I was thinking of doing this originally, but I wasn't sure if this would bottleneck my system.

P.S. I decided to get a larger PSU than necessary because I plan on overclocking and adding a second Graphics Card later on.

I already have a copy of Windows.

I don't see why you would need such a powerful CPU if you're only playing games. My i7 2600K @ 3.4GHz is already perfect and can run games using multicore rendering without breaking a sweat.

Yep. Is that how I hook it up then? HDMI to the Mobo?

The graphics card can run any game out there just fine. I've used both the 560 and the 670 (and if you were to upgrade, you would want the 670) and IMO the 670 way more than enough. It's a really great GPU, but your 570, especially at 2.5GB, will be enough.

So if you want to go to an i5 or an i7 2600K and upgrade your GPU or use it for peripherals, then go ahead. Up to you.

Yeah, there's a port on the back.

Yes get the i5 3570K, and 850w PSU (1000w you will never use more than ~75% of it), then get a PCIe 3.0 GPU to maximize performance i.e. the GTX670 is a nice choice

> i3 2120

> Max BF3

Really, the processor is VERY trivial for gaming PCs.
