Hey guys,
I just want to say a big thank you for everyone who has helped me decide which parts to buy, and with other tidbits of advice over the last few months.
All your help now means I'm sat playing Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 on my brand-new pc.
Kudos to all of you. Learnt a lot. Really not as daunting as I once believed.
(if anyone fancies hooking up for game sessions let me know - i have quite a few Xbox friends...but none on PC) Congratulations!
Can't wait to build mine...hopefully soon.
Intel Core i5 3570K - $230
MSI Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 - $330
HDD - Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB - $90
RAM - CORSAIR Vengenace LP 8GB - $60
Mobo - ASUS P8Z77-V LK - $140
Case - Antec Three Hundred - $55
PSU - Cooler Master Silent Pro M600 600W - $90
Optical drive - LiteON DVD Burner - $18
Monitor - ASUS VS2328H-P 23" HD LED - $170
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM - $100
Keyboard - Something cheap
Mouse - Razer Abyssus - $35
Total = $1300
If I get an Alienware...the baseline variant has a crummy GT 560 Ti with a paltry amount of RAM is $1000 more.A bit of that is very similar to my set up, except your video card is a bit better than mine. Its a good set up, imo. You will be able to run pretty much any game with settings maxed out with good fps.
