Can I get an opinion on This computer?

This is better for gaming, although the GPU isn't as good as the desktop from Staples.

How much better is it? I'm not a computer person, so laymans terms would be appreciated.

The only things that you need to worry about when comparing these 2 computers are the CPU and GPU, everything else is basically the same.

The CPU in the computer I linked is slightly toned down to the Staples one, but the GPU is much better than the Staples computer.

Basically, with the computer i linked, you can play any game to date, whereas with the Staples computer you cannot.

Yes, you can play any game but you'll struggle on a lot of games at higher settings.

I own a 5670, and it ain't a powerhouse.

The card isn't meant to max out every game. So like, battlefield 3 for example. If you wanted to run it using that 6100 + 6670 build, it would just fine at 30 fps at 1920x1080 screen resolution on low-medium settings, which still looks stunning on PC (I would know, I play BF3 on 1920x1080 on medium at 30 fps).

If I have a card that plays BF3 on the lowest of settings (or any game for that matter on low settings), how would it compare to the Xbox?

It probably won't look as good. Games on the consoles are optimized for the hardware.

Ok. I was just trying to gauge how much better or worse a game running on low settings on the PC is compared to the Xbox.

battlefield set to 1920x1080 on low will look like or better than the Xbox 360 version.

Oh wow. Impressive.

It's a pain, because part of me says "just save the money, get a budget GPU" and the other part says "get the 670!!!"

Lol. Hopefully, the 660 ti would be amazing for the price. Waiting on that baby!

I can afford a 670, but I'd rather not spend that much. Ideally, the 560 ti fits perfectly. However, the 660 ti is rumored to be around $299, which is halfway. So, if the performance is there I probably would get that instead.

I can afford pretty much up to $1500. However, I don't want to spend that much since this'll be my first rig. I'd like to keep it as close to $1000 as possible. Basically, once I get over that price point, I eliminate the "luxury" items or downgrade, such as getting a cheaper case, lower wattage PSU (or non-modular), no Blu-Ray drive, smaller SSD, etc...

I was able to fit the 670 in there just fine.

I'm going to message you about something real quick though.

Wow thanks a lot! I still need a monitor a other I/O devices, however I don't need help there. That's sort of the thing too; I'm trying NOT to include those into my budget because they aren't really part of the actual computer and last a very long time. I can easily get a monitor, keyboard, and mouse for under $200 though :)

Would an i5 3450 bottleneck the 670? :|

That's like, $149 at Microcenter and I have one close-by.

edit: Plus, if the 660 ti is on par with the 670, it could be $100 less. That's $100 I could put toward a more durable case (I'm a sucker for see-through side panels like the CoolerMaster Storm Scout @ $70) and perhaps a blu-ray drive and larger SSD ^_^

If you would like to spend around $1000 but wait until the 660ti comes out, then here you go.

Just save it add in the 660ti when it comes out.

The 3450 will NOT bottleneck the 670, but you will not be able to overclock with it, because it's not an unlocked CPU.

Never got a response so...
Recommend me a good gaming PC. Running BF3 decently is the goal.
My price range is 700$ at the maximum, preferably cheaper than that.
