I currently am using a Sony Viao FW390 I was kick as back in 09 but not so much now. Also, that is the style of keyboard I want.
So are you buying the build I linked you?

Also, you would want this keyboard. Literally the best one you can possibly buy.
I most likely will. What is so special about that particular keyboard?
Just the quality of it. It has brown switches, which are good for typing and gaming. It also uses gold for distributing the signal between keys, which is why it's so expensive. I've been using it for a few months and it feels amazing.

Sure, it doesn't have LEDs or macros but for the quality itself it's so worth it. And if you do want macros you can get a Logitech G13.
I honestly don't give a flying -blam!- about macros. :P But this is the keyboard I currently use and it is -blam!- awesome. I've never had a single issue with it. Spilled -blam!- on it yadda yadda yadda. You know, the works. I've all but destroyed this keyboard and it still lives. That is why I want one very similar.
Trust me. You want a mechanical keyboard. After using my mechanical keyboard for so long during the summer, I went back to school and could barely stand typing on their keyboards because I preferred my mechanical one so much more.

My dad still uses his IBM mechanical keyboard that's 7 years old.

In response to the build a couple pages back to the guy looking for a $2-3k build, why would you have two 670s in there? That's gonna cost around $800 when two 670's roughly equal to one 680 which is $500. Just something to think about.

....

No

Is this worth an extra $100 to you?

There is no way to justify buying a 680 over a 670. Those comparisons being a perfect example.

Oops, I was thinking about something different actually in terms of the 690 not 680. These guys are right and it makes sense in this case to go with the two 670s.

Edit: Typo

Because the 670 is so close to the 680, and there are no 670 SLI benchmarks on that page, I used a 680 SLI in its place.

680 SLI > 690, so a 670 SLI setup would still be equal to the 690, at $200 cheaper and a larger power consumption.

I know, I just got some of the numbers switched around. Doesn't help it's been a long day and I'm sick. But on a different note, I just got my 660ti a couple days ago and the thing is a beast. Supposedly there's rumors out there too that the 700 series might be coming out in the near future.

Not right after they just released the 660ti, but yeah. Eventually.

Well it's barely been a year since the 5xx series. They release one every year, but never longer than two.

@The 3K build

Wouldn't a 4GB 670 be a good Idea since he will be running triple screen 1080p on max settings? I hear of people maxing 1GB on BF3 with one monitor! And Razers Mice and Keyboards look good, but quality is not the best. Typing from the BF3 blackwidow with BF3 Imperator. ^_^

I did I 3K build because I was bored lol I thinks it's almost the same as the other floating around.

Wait how did mine end up $150 cheper with a lot of more expensive components in there O.O

And if I wanted to back up a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD could I buy a 2TB HDD and slit it, or RAID it in some way that it would automatically back up both?

Posted by: Ferrari DuDe856The 4GB model is pointless due to the 670 having a 256-bit bus, bottlenecking the card's ability to use that amount of memory. It would need a 512-bit bus to even have a minimal effect on how much memory can be used.

And I'm curious, why did you choose the H80 which is quite a step down from the H100 with minimal cost, Corsair RAM when G.Skill has a lifetime warranty, and Crucial when the Samsung has a read speed of 500 mB/s?

And the HAF X? I have that case, but the 650D has much better cable management and a sleeker look. The PSU isn't platinum rated like the SS (although they're both built by SS), you downgraded the monitor to one with no LED backlight, and added blu-ray. Removing the mouse, you somehow made it more expensive.

Would a GTX 680 be able to use 4GB effectively?

On the H80 IDK if he wanted to OC so I just threw a decent cooler in there.

With the RAM oh I didn't know they had that! I'm using that on my future build now!!

I thought the Crucial had something like 500 too.

650D is smaller, so I doubt it has better airflow which is obviously critical with SLI. All a matter of preference.

The PSU meh. I knew it was good. So I put it in.

LED isn't all that great, but if you want it go for it.

I thought he said he wanted blu-ray... yeah he did want it.

No, the 670 and 680 both have a 256-bit bus. Radeon cards are much better for multi-monitor, but won't run the games as well due to them being worse in other aspects.

Some benches for the SSD's. I haven't looked through it too much.

And yeah, the 650D has worse airflow, but when you have watercooling, it doesn't matter too much. I just don't like the cable holes on my HAF X.

Oh.

But is the Samsung more comprable as far a reliability? I know the M4s have a fault that cause them to die at 5184hrs of use, but according to Crucial if you install a new firmware it fixes it.

The GPUs aren't water cooled.

I'm not trying to be an arse I'm just putting up a argument! ;)

Ok so, how long until this -blam!- becomes obsolete. I guess that the real question I want to find out. Let's say in three years will it still be able to play games at a great quality?

Oh god

With your build you could last 10+ years.

We've put together for you an incredible build, much better than the common PC gamer's PC.

I mean come on, it's $3000...

Yes, but the graphical capabilities of games don't progress nearly as fast as the technology itself does, so it really doesn't matter. And even in the next 6 or 7 years, if you really see a performance dip, you could just get another 670.

But don't even bother thinking about it. Your build will be amazing.

Why did NVIDIA opt for a 256-bit memory bus for the higher Kepler GPUs? Considering the 570 and 580 had 320-bit or 384-bit memory buses. Hell the 560Ti had a 256-bit memory bus as opposed to the 660Ti's 192-bit.

Assuming it's a trade-off due to Kepler's better performance.

If youre buying high end parts, it should last you a while. But try not to think about it, because of Moore's Law.

Anybody know of a good cheap MoBo? I would use it for a Phenom II x4 965 black edition. I was going to use the MSI 970A-G46 but if someone knows of a better one I would appreciate it.
This doesn't look that bad, it's from ASUS at $99

Nothing's gonna last 10 years bro

GPU power pretty much almost doubles annually

Although games aren't going to exceed this anytime soon, it's safe to say some developers are going to really push this
