The 7850 for sure.

Thanks I'd been leaning towards it. I have a i5 2320 and 8GB RAM, overall will it make a decent setup for gaming? First time doing it so I don't know what to expect.

The 570 is better than the 7850, and cheaper.

From places I've seen the 570 is £50 more? Don't know if that applies everywhere.

What about the 570 is better? In comparisons its performance seems relatively similar, but I think uses more power, is louder and hotter.

Yeah, it'll be pretty decent.

The 570 is good too, but I figured if he was going mid ranged the 7850 will be one of the best bang for you buck.

My apologies, the 570 IS more expensive, but not by $50. Only by about $20.

570
7850

Still though, for a roughly $20 difference, it's still worth it to go for the 570.

I don't know if you guys know about this website, but it's really helpful: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

It's not exact, but it can give you a good estimate.

I got these cheeseburgers man....

Personally,I'd go with the 570 after seeing that, but how exactly does the 570 rank higher than the 690?

  • 08.27.2012 1:44 PM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

The 690 is ginormous, so it takes longer for voltages to pass through it, and there's just too many cores for it to run well. Basically, bigger does not always = better.

That's why the 670 is the best card.

Thanks for the help guys. I don't have a real interest in playing it but its always a benchmark, with a i5 2320, 8GB RAM and the 7850 (is looking like the 570 is out of budget), what kind of settings could I BF3 run at with a decent 40+ FPS?

What 670 do you recommend?

Also, an i5 won't really hold much back.

Works perfectly, EVGA is a very reliable brand, and it's the overclock edition.

Really guys... These are the minimum requirements for BF3:

OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Althon X2 2.7 GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card, ATI Radeon 3870 or higher, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher.
Graphics card memory: 512 MB
Sound card: DirectX compatibl sound card
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
(it wont run well, but it will run)

Can we please stop basing everything we buy off how well it will run BF3?

Look. See?

You don't need super fancy hardware to play it.

You could play it perfectly with an i3 and a 560. I bought a 670 for other reasons, but my point still stands.

Not everybody has/can afford a 560, and not everybody has the knowledge of computers as we in this thread do.

The reason why people walk into this thread is ask questions about hard ware, specs, etc. etc. because they don't entirely know what they're doing. So, since we are the care takers of this thread, we must answer the questions.

So what i'm trying to say is, just shut up and help the people so they can enjoy games just like us.

The MSI version that has Twin Frozr IV(?) has the best cooling from what I hear.
