I agree with Salty; the CD drivers are grossly outdated, and I have had absolutely zero problems with over thirty PC's all updated with ASUS and AsRock's drivers on their official pages. Be sure to update the BIOS as well, since that will be outdated. What? How grossly outdated? The Z77 chipset came out in April, and it's not like Windows 7 upgraded from SP1 in that time. The drivers on the CD will be fine, and should all work. I've never heard of drivers supplied on discs being incorrect, but unfortunately, it's a different story getting them online. If there was a major issue with the drivers on the disc, they'd probably ship it with an up-to-date disc.
I, on the other hand, have installed drivers and operating systems on at least over 500 machines, of various brands, both pre-built and custom built. I'm telling you, you will end up messing up an installation, and possibly the hardware itself, if you go around installing every single driver you see on a page. I'm mainly talking about chipset and BIOS upgrades. You shouldn't install anything unless you're certain it is compatible with a product. Don't take their word for it.
Also, I wouldn't bother flashing the BIOS. If your computer boots up properly, and you can tweak settings in the BIOS without an issue, I don't think there's a lot of point in updating the BIOS. Don't fix what ain't broke. :PUpdated drivers come out for a reason, otherwise the manufacturers wouldn't make them; they can increase stability, performance, or give new features. Just because the driver CD's "work" does not mean that you can not do better. That's like telling me to use the stock GPU drivers on the disk instead of downloading the online ones. I have a Z68 board myself, and installing newer USB3 drivers have increased my read/write performance with my external HDD, and updating my BIOS has allowed me to overclock another extra 0.2 GHz.
If you're building a computer for another person, of course it's a different story because CD's are slightly more convenient, but if it's your computer, I'd just rather have the most up-to-date software on my computer. Besides, you're not just "installing every driver you see;" You're installing drivers on an official page. If you don't trust the brand to put the correct drivers on the page (which I have never seen happen ever), then don't buy their products and condone that sort of behavior.

What's the best computer (for games) that I could get for around $600? And what games could it run on high settings? Here.
Benchmarks for the GPU.
