Made this budget build. It's for the people on a loooow budget.

Here's the same build, but with a 6670. This is for the people on a "higher budget" budget build.

Quite similar to something I put together.

Could be $500 without the OS...but still....all of that for such a low budget.

I'm sure you could run it for about two years safe, but any longer than that and you'll most likely see a downgrade in performance. Kingston RAM is notorious for eating up voltages, while Samsung is generally considered the most efficient.
Should I consider getting new RAM or possibly try to attempt to squeeze as much performance from 1.575 volts?

Or even revert to 1.5 volts (so the DIMMs will run at 1333 MHz), will I notice a dip in performance?

You could always remove the optical and change the PSU to a $25 PSU. That'll bring the total price down to $300, which isn't bad considering the CPU. Heck, you could even downgrade that.

I suppose it's a matter of personal judgement. I've heard of people who run 1.65v fine, and those who have issues with it. The difference between 1333 and 1600 isn't any more than 5-7% or so, so you won't see any major real-world changes. See what 1.575v does and if it BSOD's, run 1.5 @ 1333. I don't see the point in getting new RAM right now when you could spend the money on other stuff.

How do I undervolt the RAM to 1.575 volts?

I have the ASUS P8Z77-V.

Sort of off topic....but how do you like that motherboard? I'm planning on buying the LK version of it.

I have the P8Z68-V Pro/gen3, but I would normally enter the BIOS, go to AI Tweaker, go down to RAM voltage, and then change the manual voltage to 1.575 (Be sure to hit enter after you change it). I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure that you can't offset the voltage with anything other than the CPU, so you don't have to mess with percentages or anything.

Awesome board. Not sure about the LK but I heard it has issues with POST if you install RAM in a dual-channel configuration.

But that could be alleviated with a BIOS update.

The only difference that i've noticed between the V and V-LK versions is that the LK version doesn't have the built in wireless.

They are more or less identical, the V has more SATA III ports than the LK.

I bought the V because of the Wi-Fi.

You should note that more expensive motherboards are made with better quality solder, are thicker (more durable), and have longer-lasting capacitors. It's not just "features."

Someone posted a link comparing different motherboards' power phases.

Can't seem to dig it up.

Found this on AMD's website, vertically mounted graphics cards?

it's probably just the case, the graphics cards are mounted correctly.

In box-shaped cases, some of them even put the graphics card away from the motherboard with a pci-e cable connecting to the motherboard

Catman, you could get a cheaper, and better HDD and save about $10.

Also, is Asus's customer service good? I'm gonna try to get a replacement for my Nexus 7.

Ehh, it was $10 cheaper when I put that together. And it's not a primary drive, so speed doesn't really matter.

Antec PSU on sale for $89.99, even though it says it's not. The email I got says it is.

Also, how good is this mobo?

After the $40 mail-in rebates and with the $30 off promo code it does come out to $89

Counting rebates as discounts is a good way to lose money

It's better than paying full price.
