Honestly, I've never actually had to do it before. And now, come to think of it, there are probably heaps of the things. If you don't mind it, the best and easiest way around it would be to wipe the drive/s and reinstall windows. It's a new installation anyway, right? Shouldn't be much hassle.

If I clear the SSD how can I go about clearing that, and if so will I be able to use my previous disc to re-install it? I've got another copy if I need it, but I'd really like to return it I'd possible.

Ugh, any easy way to go about this? I used the CMD to remove some of them I believe, but I'm not sure which are the generic drivers that came pre-installed and which are the ones I recently installed (which I've actually still got on my flash drive).
Posted by: Vadam930
Try uninstalling the old ones first.
You should be able to find them under the control panel and then the uninstall programs section.

Man, its been a while since Ive been on this thread. But, im looking for some advice. I want to get more into streaming (twitch.tv/sagespartan btw) and youtube, and I'm looking for a new microphone. I have Astro A40s and the mixamp, and I love them, but the mic isn't necessarily the best quality. Any suggestions? I'm thinking a blue yeti, but I'm not sure.

I know this isn't necessarily computer related, but I figured this is the best place to ask.

Thanks.
How much do you want to spend? If you want a really good mic, get the Audio Technica AT2020 USB along with a
Samson Spider shock mount, but that would run you $150. If you want a cheaper microphone, you can always get a snowball.

Just curious....but why are you "upgrading" to Windows 8? I don't have anything against it....but Windows 7 and 8 are soooo alike
Because dat task manager. And boot time. And decreased search time. And a better file transfer system, better multi-monitor support, and the rest of the stuff.
And still no start orb.... or DOS support from the box.
1/10 won't upgrade
The start orb doesn't matter. Pressing windows key will bring up the search feature, which is vastly improved. If you only look at the lack of the native start orb, you're being close-minded. There's third party solutions out there that can remove pretty much any trace of Metro.

They didn't really give much info on what games we'll expect performance ups in.

Thanks for reading my signature!

Getting close to throwing this thing out a Window, I just got a 670 GTX and it keeps black screening (every 20 seconds, even at idle) due to what I think are -blam!- drivers. It works fine in a different build.

I've tried everything, then I realized after wiping the drivers and rebooting for the 8 billionth time that Win7 was installing these 'Generic VGA' drivers itself, something I've not noticed when installing any other cards.

So, I need to figure out how to stop Win7 from automatically installing drivers, I already set it to 'Never install driver software from Windows update' in device installation settings, but it hates me and does it anyway.

Plz halp?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/lKoR Hey guys tell me what you think. Keep in mind I'm on a really tight budget and I'm buying the processor from Microcenter.

Everything looks fine. If you could squeeze out another 15ish dollars, you could get 8GBs of RAM. But if you can't, then get this instead. The only difference is mine has dual channel RAM so it'll just be faster.

Flood Kids? Lol.

So, I need to pick out a good solid state drive for Christmas. I'd like a 128/120GB one, but I don't know what brands are the best to buy from. I'd like one that wont give out on me because I've heard the ones from OCZ burn out. Thanks.

I was thinking I would buy another 4 gb stick in a month or so.

Just pay the extra $10 or so and just get the 8GB now then.
Also, just to let you know, your case doesn't have front panel USB 3 ports and your motherboard does, so you might want a new case.

Thanks for the heads up, didn't notice that. Any suggestions for a case below $60?

Is it going to be a problem having those on there? To be honest I'm a bit afraid of of removing one of the default drivers.

Thanks! One last thing. Is Microcenter safe to buy parts from? I'm kinda confused on how they are selling This so cheap. I looked around but just want to make sure I didn't miss something this cpu isn't used right? Or it isn't refurbished? I've never really heard too much about Microcenter.

  • 10.28.2012 5:55 PM PDT

Microcenter is a fantastic store if you are lucky enough to have one near you. They likely be in sizeable bulk so they are able to sell them at very reduced prices. If I were you I might wait until they have a good mob-CPU combo.

Either way, this means that as long as people keep buying both brands of cards, they'll be competing for better drivers and everyone wins.

I know, but at least we had somewhat of an idea of what to expect.
