So I'm just gonna link my thus far components and would appreciate tweaks and critiques.

Case
Power Supply
Motherboard
CPU
SSD

I;m not sure on a GPU yet, and I'll just pick a random disk drive. Also, any recommendations for RAM? Or does that not really matter?

Thank you very much Salty. Also would you recommend W7 over W8 like Suicidal?

If your budget is under 1000, get a cheaper case and ditch the SSD. You still need RAM (get some GSkill around $40), a hard drive, and GPU. Get a Western Digital Black 1TB 7200RPM hard drive, and then see what your budget is.

Also, Bauble, I use Win8 as my primary OS on my laptop, and I definitely wouldnt use it for gaming. It just seems to cluttered for a gaming machine, but I like it on my laptop.

Yeah, just get this case, you can throw in fans afterwards.

You can might as well drop the SSD if it's going over budget.

Get the 922 over that case. Its a better buy IMO.

I agree.

Miles better than the 912. I was actually going for the HAF 922 but I was sold over my current Corsair case.

I absolutely love the look of that case lol so I'm gonna keep it. Also, is an HDD necessary with a SSD or can I just rock the SSD alone? And with all the rebates and stuff, I'm still under a grand with a GPU and RAM.

Unless that case would be detrimental...would it be?

You're like a slinky. Good for nothing, but you bring a smile to my face when I push you down the stairs.

Ok, my parents said that if it's close to $400, then it's over budget. So $350 or less, how would you make this a decent but affordable last few parts? As in RAM CPU and Mobo? I won't be overclocking anything, by the way

You can get a slightly cheaper SSD. 120GB should be fine and should be used as your boot drive and also to store commonly used applications.

Games and everything else should go into your HDD.

If you decide to run off the SSD alone, you will sacrifice storage capability.

In my setup, all of my applications that are not games go into my SSD. Everything else is stored in my HDD.

Wouldn't I want all the gaming on my SSD for fast load times or am I way off?

Again, thank you everyone, I am extremely greatful.

The HDD would be a better buy over the SSD. You can always add in a SSD later. HDD will be almost 100 cheaper, so definitely get the HDD first. Plus, with the money saved, you can putnit towards a better GPU.

For games, it really wont make a difference whether or not you put it on an SSD. They all already have pretty fast load times compared to the consoles. You should really spend less on the case, drop the SSD and put it towards a nice GPU.

Ok, so if I drop the SSD, what are some good HDD's? and WHat do you think is a good GPU? I'm liking this ASUS 7850 I linked earlier. Also, a friend linked me these. Any good?

Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM for a HDD. That RAM is very good, get it. What you should do is go to this website, put in all the parts you've already chosen, and it will total it up for you and put it into a big list. Then, see how much money you have left in your budget. If you have about $250, get the 7870 for a GPU. If you have about $300, get a 7950 for a GPU.

Any suggestions on a disk drive or just pick the cheapest one?

Saltys build is very good. I'd go with the hard drive I recommended, because Seagates aren't quite as stable as Western Digitals, but they're both very good hard drives.

Very loosely yes. With all the extra hours from the holidays I wouldn't mind going a little over if its worth it.

And that's a legit setup right there?

Yes, go for it. But the only problem with that build is, if you don't buy the GPU right now, it'll go back up to it's regular price of 400ish. So if it does, go with a 7950, like I recommended.

So the GPU you linked is out of stock at Newegg. Should I just search 7970 and find a comparative one?

That's a nice card.

I have it myself, I can simply max out games and it won't be much of a burden on the card.

So you definitely think its worth the money? And its not like another ___y bridge is gonna come out soon or? And that would mean the gigabyte motherboard is a necessity right?
Actually, Haswell might come out next year, but it's not worth waiting for, since it will also use a different chipset, 1156.

Also, get this case instead of the HAF (I know that you want to keep the Corsair one, just just in case...)

As for the HDD thing, I own a WD and a Seagate. The WD is much more quiet and has a longer warranty, but I also spent $60 more on it ($50 vs $110). The WD is also faster.
