See the rapist.
I don't like rap.

*facepalm*

So I got my new GPU and PSU. I'm downloading the drivers for it now, but I have a question.

When I put my new hardware in, I can slap in the PSU and the GPU at the same time, correct?

Most people slap in the GPU after installing the motherboard and getting the PSU in.

When building a new computer, it usually goes like this:

PSU in case, put CPU, HSF, and RAM into mobo, put the mobo in the case, then add the GPU.

But since you just have those two components, put the PSU in first, route the cables to where they would be plugged in, put in the GPU, then plug in the cables.

You're like a slinky. Good for nothing, but you bring a smile to my face when I push you down the stairs.

Ok guys, I'll be getting my parts very soon. As in the motherboard and the CPU. Got any good videos on cable management? There is A LOT of cables coming from my PSU considering it isn't modular and I'll have to plug two fans into some of the Molex cords on it.

Take the empty case and place the PSU inside it. Route all of the cables, even the ones you won't use, through the hole closest to the PSU. Once everything is on the other side, organize the cables into groups by which grommet hole they'll be going through to get back to the motherboard side (all GPU cables together, all sata cables, etc.). Tie them together with cable ties and put them through those respective holes. Then insert the motherboard (with the CPU, HSF, and RAM already inserted) and plug in the cords. Once they're plugged in, pull on the cords gently from the other side and tie the cords down to come of the cable tie grips. Which case do you have?

This might help, I had some guy do the cable management on mine LOL.

I've already done all of my cable management, and I still sat through that whole vid. It has some pretty good stuff. If you don't have any cable ties, head on down to your local grocery store and grab a few of those twist ties from the produce aisle. They work just as well and are easier to remove, although the green might be an eyesore if you use any on the motherboard side of the tray.

God... How long should building my system take me, including the time for cable management?

From what I hear...for new builders it can take anywhere from an hour to 2 hours....MAYBE longer...maybe.

Took me less than an hour to move all my components from my old case to my new case, but I didn't have to install the CPU, fan, and RAM so overall I'd say a little less than 2 hours or an hour and a half. You don't need to spend 30 minutes on cable management, but it's your computer so you can do whatever you want with it.

How easy is it to go back and redo the cables after you've built it?

Very easy, as long as you remember where they go (once you assemble it once, you'll remember.) The only cables I've ever had trouble with are those stupid tiny power switch, reset switch, and LED cables, and even that part of the motherboard is labeled. So yes, you can do it at any time.

My first time was three hours (installing drivers as well), but I can pop everything out in 30-45 minutes including cable management.

Anyone have any good/preferred monitors. I want 2 and I want to spend as close to $200 or less, but quality does matter. The only did I've had is "ASUS".
Thanks in advance.

Depends, really.
If you want it to be 2mms/5mms or 60HZ/120HZ.
it all depends, really.

Took me about 4 - 5 hours, which includes unpacking everything, reading everything, and start-stopping the NewEgg tutorials on YouTube.

However, this includes the time it took for me to panic as the build didn't work, as well as the cursing that goes along with that.

Aside from airflow improvement, does a modular PSU make the build process go faster?

It should.

Less time doing cable management.

Do you guys have any information about an OS. Im most likely just gonna spend the -blam!- ton it is just to get windows 7, but do you guys have a better or a preferred OS. I saw OEM, but I don't know what that is. Also(just wondering), are their downsides to using a pirated version?

Illegal discussion is not allowed on the public forums.

OEM just means that the OS can only be installed and activated 1 time.

Well, considering I can still get XP and run just about any game still...I'm not going to get an OS I don't want and can easily skip when the time comes.
